FINALLY a collabo to sink your teeth into! A couple weeks ago, the fair city of San Francisco played host to a little musical improv sesh with Tommy Guerrero and a few members of Tortoise. Taking place at the Barrel House and with proceeds going toward the Keep A Breast Foundation, it was a good time for all involved. With Tommy G. on bass, Jeff Parker on guitar, John Herndon on the skins, Marc Capelle on keys, and Dave Douglas on hand percussion, musical results varied from head-bobbing downtempo goodness to out-and-out stoner rock grooves á la the finale piece, an extended cover of “War Pigs” that brought the house down. Yeah, it was a good night.
