Sad news to start off the week.  SLAP would like to offer our condolences to friends and family of SF skater Justin Stone, who was hit and killed by a car after catching a rock and getting tossed into the street in the Tenderloin. Careful out there, people.

On a better note, One In A Million is live with Cardiel in the host seat! We gave eleven skaters the chance to skate NYC for a week and compete to get hooked up by big name companies. Will hearts (or heads) be broken? Will anybody out-Forrest Forrest? Will the Dewski pick up a new sugar slurping am? Stop by every Wednesday for the next twelve weeks to see how it pans out.

Speaking of New York, anybody know what’s happening at 12th & A? Is it just temporarily locked up over the winter or is it done with? Sounds like Billy Rohan has it under control.

On the other coast, Portland skaters settled out of court in a lawsuit against security firm Pacific Patrol Services for an assault at Pioneer Square in ’09.  Some forum posters are bummed that the spot has blown up, but any instance where the court can rule in favor of a skateboarder is a pretty big step in the right direction.
