We were saddened to hear that Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys passed away this morning after a three-year bout with cancer. You'd be hard pressed to find a skateboarder who doesn't appreciate his music. RIP to a true legend.

Los Angeles city council is pushing a speed limit of 25 MPH for skateboards in an effort to end hill bombing in the city. We can only assume that hundreds of skaters will be indicted from speed traps set up at the bottom of the Hollywood High rail, and Vincent Alvarez will be a felon by the end of the year.

In weird sponsor news, Theotis Beasley has signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation, possibly for their talent management division.

In regular ass sponsor news, Enjoi has picked up new ams Ryan Lay and Zach Wallin, LRG has picked up Trent McClung and Carlos Ribiero, and Globe's insane Double Rock part makes it look like Sweet Lou is on. Meanwhile, John Fitzgerald is strangely absent from the Zero site, and Rob Gonzales, Rodrigo Peterson, and Adelmo Jr. are absent from LRG's.
