Yeah....they're definitely different skaters, I was just commenting on the similarity of their style's, two of the smoothest ever. Calling a legend a "beta version" sounds pretty weird in retrospect.

This is the only thread on here I go back through on a regular basis.  I don't care if I sound like I am sweating the dude hard, but he is the definition of skateboarding to me.  The lack of current photos makes the ones we do get so special.

Julien's been everywhere in skating and it shows with his style. Venice jump ramp era,innovating street with Natas and the Gonz,killing sf in sick boys,going on tours with Sheffy on sma,showing kids you can still kill it with small wheels in sky pager, and with Deluxe  Anti-Hero just killing it everywhere. The guy is a legend and who ever has a chance to see him skate in person is one lucky son of a bitch. Major Props Julien !!!

reminds me of a couple of weeks ago at the skatepark when I said "like the gonz" and my friends said "what? david gonzales?"
