Theeves seem hit or miss. I've had my Ace trucks for 2 years and they're great, but only buy them if you like loose trucks.

theeves are a very controlled ride (reminds me some of thunders turning / response) . uber boring. aces are the looses trucks out there. the turn is to sharp and fast.. and are a pure blast to skate on. IMO. plus people think you crazy when you trucks just wobble on their own. yet you don't get wheel bite.. I'm glad i tried a lot of trucks in the past couple years so now i know ace's are the best. for how i like to skate.

I get wheelbite with Aces, Bones mediums and 52mm wheels just by turning too hard. I have clumps of urethane melted into my deck by now. Teaches you to land bolts I guess.

I think you're getting Allen confused with Philips. 

Real talk, though, they both strip fairly easily, but philips are wayyy worse. I can use allen hardware significantly more times than I can use philips.

Trying to get rusty, stripped philips heads out are fucking impossible.

Ive had my old Lucky Philips bolts for about 2,5 years now, and I setup boards often. Fuck Allen bolts.

Slipping out of a Philips head is not stripping it. If you actually look at the type of Allen bolts those people are talking about (one of the posted a picture of the hex bolts they used on one of their projects), yeah I can see their arguments holding weight. The bolts they're generally using have very thick heads and allow for more of the hex key to slide into the slots. For as shallow as both Allen and Philips slots are on hardware, is is definitely easier to deform the slots to the point where the bolt cannot be turned on Allen bolts. Even using the correctly sized key on hardware, the slightest slip does not push the hex key out of the bolt like a slip does with a Philips screwdriver. Instead, it just deforms the hexagon as the key turns within the bolt.

Oh look! Here's a quote from one of your own links that backs me up: "Once a hex bit slips either the screw or the wrench is done."

Allen heads don't seem to slip so much for me if I hold the hexkey in place and turn the nut instead.

The last set of phillips heads I had were the kind that you had to carve out a bit of the deck for so that they'd sink and be flush. Are they usually nowadays similar to the allen heads that will sink by themselves?
