Parts of Jesus Camp was filmed here in a suburb of Kansas City, despite the camp being in North Dakota.  Extremely bummed on it.  That is one of the saddest/scariest docs around.

And yes, we've got ol' Westboro here as well.  I've seen them protest at KU- just the regular God Hates Fags thing.  Honestly, like Gip said earlier, I wish people would just not give them any attention.  If the law protects what they do, then fine, but publicizing it only makes it worse.

Returning to the topic of giving these maniacs airtime:  I remember when that guy shot and killed some Amish people in PA, one of the news networks agreed to interview someone from WBC so they wouldn't protest at the Amish girls' funeral.  It's a cheap way to get on TV, but better than them fucking with someone's burial service.  I think they have protested at funeral services for dead soldiers returning from the Middle East.

Whenever someone tries to use them for entertainment it always falls flat for me.  Shirley from WBC has been on Howard Stern many times and he can never seem to succeed with making her feel like an idiot.  It's frustrating as a listener since you want to see them boil, but it never happens.
