Skateboarding is sick anywhere,
Most people suck everywhere.
But it just seems like people from LA or San Diego seem...worse?
But there are shitty idiots everywhere.

I think skating on the East coast is better because of the abundance of smooth spots and year-round good weather.

It's more than possible to skate around LA and hit spots every 5 feet....you just can't stay at them for very long...but we do have hundreds of miles worth of ditches.

It's just different. If someone wants to get coverage while still living on the East, they have to work three times as hard (twice just to get a good photographer or filmer, three times because the spots are mangled to hell). Plus the spots themselves just have a lot more character. If you look at a ditch spot out East versus a ditch spot in cali, the difference is undeniable. I don't know, but I just get way more psyched on dudes from the East Coast because skateboarding isn't as accessible out here and I know if they're consistently getting coverage or coverage at all, their dues have been paid.

Though humorously confrontational, this comment is quite foolish.

according to my friends who visited LA, the spot system is 'pretty much like NYC'

Both have their good and bad. I lived in CA for about 5 years, and what I saw were alot of ballhangers and scenesters in general. Don't get me wrong, I dig the west side for sure but I think the east side vibe is a more real feeling. Texas has always been great fun everytime I am there. The skaters take you in, and show some great hospitality. With all that said, I wouldn't agree that one is better than the other though. They are just different.

You must be new to the Skateboard game. This is real industry talk. "It's all about who you know". And that's real. So, I know a few people that can make it happen.

Cause I've lived in the south my whole life and it pretty much sucks. For my interests, bith in and outside of skating, a place like NYC or any other nigger east coast city is much better.

The great northwest I tells ya. Oregon is a pretty good location. Especially the valley, because portland is an hour north, eugene is an hour south and seattle is an easy day trip.

its funny. the first post just says "just read"
the first person to post definatly knew a shit storm was a brewin. Your area is the best depending on your perspective of what you want out of skating and how fat your wallet is so possibly you could go enjoy other areas.

if what you mean is that theres so many nugs in cali that kids don't skate..........that is hilarious! living in northern california is really good for getting high quality nugs, and theres been times where ive smoked a bit too much eaerly on and then just felt too tired and stiff the rest of the day to even skate.........most of the time you can do both and still be awlrite though
I like the raw spots on the east coast too...
