And I've never even worn that shoe, but I have the S and I know that the standard cole can't beat it. Seriously, the S feels so godly on my foot. I haven't skated it, but I have high expectations.

I'm having a lot of problems with back pains, pains in general, and not being able to do gaps without killing my feet. So, fingers crossed, I can actually skate these instead of the sole tech vulcs I've gotten so accustomed to.

Well, I have both (neither skated), so....


Impact support: Cole

Heel lock: Cole
weight: negligible

overall comfort: Koston - there is a unique lining to the back of the suede - the area your foot contacts

boardfeel: Koston...I think. It just feels like there isn't as much material between your foot and the ground.

protection/durability: both of the uppers feel VERY sturdy. The suede used in both is heavy-duty.

I did notice that the toecap of the Koston offers more protection (just by hitting my feet with my knuckles) in the event that the board land on your toes - something that has been the bane of my skating since I started wearing one-piece toecaps.

And, if I'm not mistaken, there is an additional layer of suede in the ollie area on the Cole's, which would double that area's life.


Overall: buy both.

my shop i work at got the Cole lite, with the clear bottom, and i tried em on and they slipped of my heels like crazy! couldnt imagine trying to skate them even. maybe its cuz the clear sole is stiffer?  i dunno, also the unilite shit on the bottom felt like i had something poking into my arch on my foot.

it didnt even feel like a skate shoe, but maybe the ones i tried on are shitty defects?

I've skated all of Chris Cole's DC's, so that's what I base MY opinion off of.  I can't feel my board for shit in the Lites, they just look good.
