last significant purchase for a long while.  this thing is awesome.  under 500 bucks for real analog, and it sounds amazing.  no presets or memory so you can't save any sounds; you have to make each sound from scratch every time you play it.  so more fun than having a bunch of pre-loaded crap from the factory.  if anyone out there was looking to get into synths or electronic music (or even doom/prog/psych/whatever), this is the way to go

Can you use it as a controller for mixing off of your laptop?

you can use it as a midi controller to play soft synths, and you can sequence it from your DAW as well.  It also has control voltage, so you can use it as a midi to cv converter, or use it as a cv controller keyboard for pre-midi cv only synths (worth about 500 bucks for that functionality alone)
