Where's you rent a 5D in SF? And how much did it run you? I want to rent a Nikon D700 just to mess with a full frame for once.

Decided to go on a whim after reading that at like 8:00, that was fun.
Sign nearby said that someone lived as a hermit in that cabin for 27 years, pretty crazy. The doorway is like 4 feet tall.
I need to get out to the mountains more often. I was wishing for Fongstarr's fisheye when I got to those waterfalls, it was difficult to show the scale of those things.

mooley, those last two are fantastic. can you PM me a link to high res versions of both of those? would love a new desktop background.
i entered the leica oskar barnack contest in the "newcomer" category, and somehow my series is up on the site's front page. winner takes an M9 with lens...which would be absolutely amazing. so many incredible entries, though. here's a link to my submission:

Thanks! The Walter's Art Museum in Baltimore. It's a room called "The Chamber of Wonders" and it's supposed to be modeled after one of the Cabinet of Curiosities things when old white guys from the 1800s would stock a room full of crazy absurd stuff from around the world to prove they were hot shit to their friends.

hey guys! since it has become impossible to borrow lenses for pentax in my general area as well as the complete lack of any kind of service partner around here, i am starting to consider a switch to the big C or N.
so i layed my eyes on either the 7D or D7000 plus a 30ish prime. any opinions/experiences on one of those 2? other ideas (FF would of course be interesting, but the 5DmkII doesnt have enough FPS in my eyes, and the D700 lacks video, which i surprisingly use a lot now...)?
all kinds of input appreciated.

say it aint so herc!!!
although ive heard good things about the nikon d700, and alot of people who i know that shoot skating (as their primary function) use the canon 6d. but obviously if you can afford it try a canon 1d of sorts

7D might be more up your ally since it has a pretty good burst shot and auto focus. The D7000 for a Nikon has been getting tons of appraise but the 7D is still more high end and only a little bit more expensive. It's pretty much the best crop frame camera in the market right now.

Not sure if people care but this got anounced today. Oddly it isn't that much better then the Mark 2 aside from a fast autofocus but the Mark 2 was pretty damn good off the bat, so they pretty much just add a few things here and there.

im liking those three shots, they seem a little bright, maybe its just the scanner?
