When after seeing some of the girls hanging around the park, the only thing you can do is go home and beat off while punching yourself in the face because jail would not be nice place to go to.

- you remember when vision, vans, and airwalk were the only skate shoes, and no stores in your city carried them.

- you remember renting skate videos from skate shops

- due to erosion and weathering, curbs you waxed and skated as a kid show absolutely no trace of ever having been either waxed or skated.

- you remember the CASL regional contest results being posted in the back of transworld.  including freestyle and miniramp results

- you remember when poweredge was the "third" skate magazine

- you remember CLAWZ, cell blocks, gay bars, copers, tail skid plates, bridge bolts, zero two shoes, titan trucks, skate rags, etc.

- you played "sk8 or die" on your friends commodore 64

I played Skate or Die for a months while I saved up for my first pro board.

Often, as I listened to Def Leppard.

Raw.

If you would rather go bomb a hill than skate a ledge for 2 hours with the rest of the crew.

I did that last night. I just peaced out and shot the hill a few times, came back and they were all trying the same tricks, it was awesome.

Instead of "I really suck at skating", it's "I'm not too bad for an old guy." And, I can finally understand the stretching and pushups that Salba does on the deck b/c I've got a bad shoulder and stiff legs:

You know your old when you can call a couple homies and say "lets go skate" then you meet and skate to the bar.

Getting up and having to do the alphabet with each ankle before trying to get out of bed in the morning.

True story:

I went to the park with my friend who is 23, (I'm 30) and I did a really good fast backside 5-0 on the quarter pipe, and there was this little kid on a bike beside my friend and the kid was like "WOAH!" Then looked at my friend and asked him "Is that your dad?!"

-When you show up at a skatepark and the park monitor asks if you're there to work off community service hours.
-When you realize that Flex-fit caps are no longer in fashion after reading this thread.

And speaking of Ray, I'm getting up early to hit up the local bowl and I just know there will be 50+ old dudes there sessioning for the same reason.
