Old school Airwalk shoes

I came across this website on my slacking-at-work-but-looking-busy travels, and thought I'd share... whoever made this put a lot of work into it, and some of the shoes like Prototypes and Enigmas still look awesome today. Some of them just look fucking horrible though (cough *beyonds* cough), I'll let you be the judge...

i use the Enigmas as jogging shoes sometimes.

My buddy has a pair of the Blue, Black and grey Enigmas and skates them every now and then.

We used to get the red and green enigmas and make our own colorways with bleach... I think that was common.  Also cutting your airwalks and taping the tops.  Freaked out some moms for sure.  What a strange trend.

Those velocities were the worst shoes possible to street skate in.  Thick soles and came up to mid-calf.  I remember having them during the summer an my feet always sweating lie crazy.  I was so stoked on the black and white 540s because they were the best color to marker up.

oh shit, i forgot about those. probably the only airwalks that didn't completely look like shit. i favored the jordans but i remember being stoked on these because they had gotten away from all the purple and blue colorways.

Was the point of NTS's to mix and match?  Brutal.  I had a pair of brown NTS 2's, they actually skated pretty decently.   I also had Ones, like every other kid in 1993-4.

we took it a step further and broke out shoe polish too....one of my favourite shoes....

i had the enigmas and the jason lees...way cleaner looking than most of the shit airwalk was making back then.


they had some really awful looking kicks.

These... these shoes are so bad they're actually kind of awesome. I can't imagine why people started chopping them down!

I love Enigmas though. If they ever reissued them I'd buy a pair in a heartbeat. Doubt that would ever happen though, these seem to be the only hi tops they make these days...
