The Ben Folds cover is probably the best one ever, shit always gets me singing along.

^ hahah, that's awesome

anyone else heard the albums Wilco & Billy Bragg did of Woody Guthrie songs?

I watched the documentary about the project called 'the man in the sand' (which is instantly watchable on netflix, I highly recommend a gander), and this song was in the dvd but not on either albums, and it puzzled me until I found this video of Wilco performing it live

One of the best covers I've ever heard:
Small | Large

Ummmm
Hendix - all along the watchtower Dylan
Does Physical by Revco even count as a cover? Olivia Newton John
1000 homo DJ's Supernaut - Black Sabbath
Planet Caravan by pantera        ""
Dead Souls NIN - Joy Division
Hurt Johnny Cash - NIN
UB40's version of red wine not sure who did the og one.
I forgot Donovans Hurdy Gurdy man being covered by the Butthole Surfers.
Shit, Devo's satisfaction cover
I guess I like a lot of covers, going over 50's music could take a while.

It's mind-boggling how many rad 50's and 60's songs were written in the 20's

Summertime -
Miles Davis (1958)
Small | Large

The Zombies (1965)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmOIW63Emw0 (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Janis Joplin (1969)

The Doors (1970)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfhF3gI_b60 (Embedding disabled, limit reached)

Shit, just checked the wikipedia page, and that song's been covered and recorded (at least) 40 times.
