We have this place outside the city where people who wants to live organically and ecological and all go to build houses in harmony with the nature and stuff.. It's all good! One of the guys out there is a dude who builds concrete parks for a living. He bought the property next to his house and invited all of us from the city out there to start building a DIY park. He is learning us the techniques and basics of building with concrete. So far we have build one part of the bowl. We are going to close it off with a corner in one end, and then expand it in the other direction with a bigger part. It's great having a dude showing us how to do it properly, the mini-ramp has even got drains so the water runs off. The transition is so fast, but its so fun to skate.

It is so hard to skate though. And the hip is kinda hard to hit as it is now. But the corner is being build in the widest part of the ramp, and we are gonna expand it from the narrower part. Don't know if we should build it higher or dig it down into the ground. Its gonna be sick either way!

The coping is even made in one piece over the hip. This is the funnest project I have ever been a part of, and we are only like 5-10 guys who knows where it is at. Everybody is welcome to come out and help out though.

I always wondered what DIY stood for. Then I thought about it and I finally figured it out myself.

i know this probably isn't the case, but that photo kinda makes it look like you mixed all the concrete for that bank/ledge in that little yellow bowl.... and that paints a really funny mental picture.

yeah for sure its a fuckin' blast but it takes a bit of effort getting up to the top (7ft) because the runway is so short.  basically you have to sprint at full speed and throw down your board with no setup time.  you might get one push in if your lucky. its a full on workout trying liptricks on that thing.  I like it.

spring's here! last fall the city decided to dump 2 tons of sand at our diy spot for storage, they finally removed all of it about 2 months ago and now that the sun is shining, we can finally update our spot.

Here's some pics: http://utown.tumblr.com/post/19133945672/diy-2-0-vanaf-morgen-skatebaar

Here's ours. It's quite rough and needs a lot of work but it's still a lot of fun the way it is.

Found this old military base in the middle of the woods. About the size of two football fields, and perfect concrete with banks all around it. So stoked! Started building last week, will post results!

Yeah! We also found ridiculous amounts of metal coping inside the base. Plus a 3 m concrete block witch is perfect as a curb. The base is also full of leca blocks, witch is extremely handy. Only problem is transporting the concrete, but its ok when we are 7-8 guys.
