well they ARE french.

I'm not sure that they are french, swimming pool in french is piscine, and they were singing pretty well in english

welll they are on a french label... and the lyrics dont make a ton of sense...




also i dont understand how anyone can be interested in venetian snares. that has got to be the worst fucking album i  have ever heard in my life. the one i bought was called something like mechanical spider taking apart itself in box or something like that. it sounds like mechanical robots taking over  your brain, its just a bunch, i dont see how anyone can chill and listen to that. i would cut my dick off.

 

Yeah, I got a whole lotta weird stuff though. It seems nobody else here is into what I'm into when it comes to electronic, especially sergio.

What kind of things are you into? If its in the range of Vsnares or Planet µ / early Warp of that sort, I'm your dude...

i saw venetian snares live a couple years ago. the show was pretty crazy and i was somewhat psyched on it but i definitely wouldn't listen to it on an album.

Honestly I love that guy, and huge chrome cylinder box wasn't the a good 1st album to buy. He makes so much shit and they all have different things going for them, he can make something like "My Downfall" but he can still make a concept album about murdering children (Doll Doll Doll), hahaha. Listen to early stuff, he is brutal and morbid; approach it with a good sense of humor and its really fun to listen to. He is essentially kicking your ass through music, just see him live. If anybody hates him I could care less. You probably just don't get it or care to get it. whatever.

it was just so bizarre. it had like no beat to it. i would be willing to check out more stuff but this stuff had like no beat at all it was just too ridiculous i couldnt chill to it. i felt like 2" drills were penetrating my eyes. that artwork scares the fuck out of me though.

hahaha, yeah the artwork is so good, it fits well. But if your new to venetian a good place to start would be "Detrimentalist" or "rossz csillag alatt született". These are more chill than Chrome cylinder box and they are more DnB influenced so there is a groove to them, plus orchestral samples.

Bibio sounds tight, I haven't been paying too much attention to new warp releases though. But yeah every BOC track is pure gold, scratch that basically every warp track in that era was pure gold, with the designer's republic to back it up!

Latest Squarepusher buy was Big Loada for me, it seems him and Aphex were grooving off the other at the time and it shows. Can't say I like Just A Souvenir that much though, oh well, I Love Port Rhombus and that clears him for life in my books.
