Jason Rothmeyer got fired from Giant and he runs Accel wheels and is a sales rep for Giant.  Things aren't looking good over at the Giant camp.

I was told jason left to do more contest judging and the like. as he is always travelling and doing that type of thing.
there has been a lot of sketchyness around giant, they just had a huge sale on boards from popwar and bueno. maybe they are calling it quits.

As for popwar, yeah it's too bad. When popwar and rasa came they (but not just them) shifted the focus back to fun in terms of skating and advertising wise and how they ran their companies. If we loose popwar, and giant for that matter, we loose a part of skateboarding and we are only that much closer to element owning everything. I guess all we can do is hope that dlx doesnt go down...

i had some label wheels when they were still in giant that for some reason always stayed white and never turned yellow and they felt good. does giant still use schmitt stix? i met paul schmitt once and taht guy was explaining everything about skateboards and was realy realy shocked when we showed him that some of the defect boards we hard were stereos and a popwar

About 2 months ago i noticed that most of the popwar,bueno and stereo decks we got were not ps stix. some were, the popwar drops technical  and the slick drops both were ps stix though. the other boards looked flatter and had shapes similar to listen/tum yeto.

They do have the pricepoint decks as well as the regulars and technicals. The pricepoints have shapes that I would probably compare to tumyeto, but I highly doubt watson is pressing them

Naw it's all the promodel decks too. the newest series (stealth,fine wood) are not ps stix wood and arent stamped on top where the front truck goes with the ps stix serial number and shape code. they just have the single dent tap that bareback also uses. even the ps stix china price point boards have the code stamped in it. I am positive they switched woodshops, the boards are way mellower and have a substancially flatter nose.

I just got one of those Stealth boards and some Popwar wheels from a buddy of mine that works at Giant.  The first thing I noticed is that it didn't have the PS serial number on it.  I thought it might have been because they're dipped, but I would imagine that you'd still be able to see it.

Anyway, I rode it for two days, didn't like it, and gave it to Woody.  The nose was way too big, the tail was way too small, and it was really flat.

If they close it up (along with Giant, the companies they rep, or any combination) that would be really fucking sad for skateboarding.

Rasa is coming back, there going to be distributed through IPATH, it's definately going to happen, and if Popwar sinks and dudes are down it'll be in the immediate future.
