everything just sounds the same. i hate how everything is wicked mellow and i hate the guys voice even more. to me they dont sound inspiring enough, like elliot smiths songs were all dark and gloomy but they sound inspiring even the more mellow songs(kings crossing). and with the song names it seems like they try and sound hipster cool meaning "i am way cooler than you will ever be" kind of like clint peterson in that transworls show me the way thing where he tries to tell people how to do 360s. i was neever into them, when i first heard them a few years ago i instantly hated them

Just wondered because a lot of people I know that love them (ATDI) can't stand Mars Volta because they wish they sounded more like their old band.

mars volta is missing the coherency of atdi and sparta is missing the experimentation of atdi. they need each other. please please bring back atdi.
