Im downloading Dead Set right now, am curious to what it's like.
I really hope The Walking Dead series is gonna be good, read the compendium andam catching up with the rest right now...

AMC (starting in October). There may be a lack of F words, but the director is a fan of the comics so if it's a fraction as good as the books, it'll be fucking insane.

According to the website I found it on: "The series pilot's director, Frank Derabont, stated at the panel that the 'footage shown was toned down for Comic Con, since it is considered a family convention. The series will have plenty of gore to satisfy hardcore zombie fans.'"

So stoked that not only did someone do zombies right in a comic book, but now that it's been adapted, they're not shitting all over it. It's funny how everyone talks about the resurgence of the zombie genre, but all anyone ever makes are bullshit slapstick movies or shit ass running zombies with bullshit CGI gore. Zombie movies has to have the most skewed ratio of popularity to actual good movies existing ever. This series looks fucking proper.

Not too stoked on some of the casting. That dude really doesn't look like Rick to me. At least dye his hair. Rick's blonde. Also not that stoked on Andrea being played by this chick http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0390229/. Don't think they say Andrea's actual age in the comic, but I imagine she's in her early to mid 20s. This bitch playing her is thirty fuckin seven. I have the boners for Andrea big time. Maybe just cause she's young and she'll fuck an old fart, so I'd have a chance with her. But yeah that Laurie Holden is too old to be playing her.

But as long as those two actors play the part well, I can get over the resemblance issues.

I have high hopes for this. May be the best thing to ever happen to me.

the first ep was sick! I have never read the comic so i cant compare it but as a stand alone show it looks to be something special. It reminded me of dawn of the dead (the original) in a way. slow moving creeping zombies, excellent atmosphere and characters I immediantly began to care for. I need more episodes and i need them now!

Completely unrelated, but NO ONE SHOULD EVER WATCH THIS MOVIE.  EVER.  My roommate stumbled home in a drunken stupor with this movie tucked under his arms.   Actually, watch it.  I dare you.

On a related note, Walking Dead was playing this evening at work.  Seemed decent.  Its a little ridiculous what censors deem acceptable for people to see on primetime tv.   You can't see a nipple or hear the fuck word, but you can see brains blown out of skulls all damn day.  America is fucked.
