Skating a pair now, they basically finally updated the 149 hanger to the stage 9/10 129 and 139 hanger shape. I like um a lot.

Ahhhh... now if only they made 8 and quarter inch trucks instead of jumping straight to 8.5

149s used to be 8.25" until they decided to nix the 159 (which was 8.5") and just make the 149 8.5". But I guess at the end of the day, it's not that big of a difference.

It is if you're riding an 8.25" board. I can't stand looking down and seeing my wheels sticking out farther than the edges of my board.

i've been skating these for almost 2 weeks; they're the perfect set of trucks. i noticed the hangar shape when i bought them and had to double check that they weren't 139s. this explains that!

Fact: If your trucks stick out farther than the edge of your board you will have a mellow turning radius and board response. This works OK on big trannies.
The narrower your trucks are compared to your board width, the quicker your turns and board response.

I do 139's on an 8.1. Works well sizewise. Not having the best experience with my stage 10's though. I liked the 9's better. Kingpin is fucking so tall on these. Also had an axle slip which is the first time I've ever had that happen with Indy's. Might mail it back if I get less lazy about it.

i cant beleive some of you are down for 149s on a board smaller than 8.5. thats the worst shit having your wheels sticking out. indy should bring back the 159s and make 149s 8.25 again.

My wheels don't stick out at all on an 8.25 with 149s.
It's flush.

Wide trucks are great. I don't give a shit about wheels sticking out or not. I am riding a 7.5 with 8 inch venture lows and it is such a negligible difference.

Landing primo with wide trucks is rough, especially down stairs. Axle in the foot!

149's aren't actually 8.5, its more like 8.3. I ride them on an 8.1 having the nuts flush with the axel and i don't notice it at all. i'd say they are perfect for an 8.25 but not wide enough for an 8.5 board.

Purchase a measuring tape, they're 8.5" from axle end to axle end.

here is why 8.5 axle works on 8.25....although the axle goes to 8.5 the hanger portion does not. So depending on whether you ride wide wheels or not, the wheels wont even show on 8.25. i know some folks who even use them on 8.125 and they dont look weird.
i just wanted you to love me you fucking whore cunt...i'll bury you in the rose garden.

A sliver under 8.4" with the hanger length being 143mm (brand new stage 10). I think thunder 147's are under 8.5 as well.
