This is the beginning of the end for nike sb. All promodels will have the sb removed.
They will also be available everywhere. True to the new slap mindset, fuck where i buy my shit, I want what I want for as cheap as possible.

Pretty sure it's for every SB model to have no more "SB" in in the tags, just "Nike".

it does appear that way (as of that pic) but only time will tell how this plays out. when i think about it i think nikes just handling this the same way the do with all their other brands. they'll still do what they're doing now (sponsoring skaters, videos, etc) but without the SB banner. theyll still sell shoes in shops but also other sports footwear stores as well. theyll still have all the pro models & other team shoes, with the 6.0 kicks in the lineup as well. think nike basketball, but with skateboarding. they sell the lebron & kobe shoes, the "team shoes" like the hyperdunks n all that, and then the other more generic, cheaper nike bball kicks as well (like 6.0)

ima still fuck with em either way. nikes taken care of my feet in more sports than one, they got my consumer loyalty

if your feet are supported by your board, why shouldn't what you wear on them support the board in some way.

because ive already spent copious amounts of money on boards, videos, hats, clothes, and accessories so ima wear whatever brand shoes i want. i dont exclusively wear Nikes but ive absolutely loved every pair ive had so i really dont have a problem supporting them. they make great shoes, end of story.

I am still going to be loyal to Nike, I dont give a shit about the "SB" title drop, just as long as they keep "6.o" away from the skate line. By the way, Saw the new Koston's yest. they kept the sole and the upper looks like an old air max model. It is actually pretty ill, but they are asking for over $100.

The only people that have seen and know where Nike is going this summer are shops because they've seen the change first hand in the form of distribution changes and model hybrids. The shoes haven't hit all the retailers just yet. They shrank the no online/elevated section to 6 sku's from 15 and have made it beyond generic.I never said the shoes weren't top notch,I've skated plenty, but I can't help but feel sour towards a brand that dominated my shop for years and drove people in to now having nike realize A core skate retailer can't handle the volume of shoes they want to sell so let's blow this thing out. I knew it was coming but just sucks when you see your sb business chopped in half by ccs and nike town. It's part of business, and we're moving on. Just wanted to put that out there. Some of you may change your thoughts on the brand, but most won't. The holiday 12 line is a dayglow spattered mall bound mess with a few gems mixed in.

I don't think I can ever buy a skate shoe at a non-skate shop. It doesn't make sense to me. Regardless of the SB removal, I am still getting shoes at local skate shops. Still, the whole SB craze has been long gone and skate shops aren't making all that money like they used to. Nike is still a good investment for shops though but they shouldn't be putting all their marbles on Nike shoes anyways. There's tons of other product to sell.

have to say that there's only been a handful of nikes at the most that I'd consider in the last few releases

I still want to get a pair of plain janoskis for chilling this summer and maybe a pair of those mountain blazers, but that's about it.

I think I might be done with Nike and for the most part it's because they're damn fugly these days (unless there are some bargains to be had on previous seasons sb's)

Yep, that sucks.  On the upside, there is always Adidas (in the realm of high quality non skate born brands).  They seem to be keeping it fairly low key, and not flexing too much.

One of the best things about Adidas (other than quality, duh) is that the shoes that they make that are skateable outside of the skate line aren't branded as "adidas 'action sports'" or something, yeah they have similar silhouettes and soles and the like, but are kept in adidas' casual line which is called adidas originals right?

This is probably the most anti-core thing said on this forum and I'll probably get chastised but I respect the shit out of Phil Knight as a businessman and for everything he's done for sports as a whole.

There's nothing wrong with respecting someone for their business savvy. There is something wrong with letting some of these colorways leave the design departments though...goddamn

Oh and I'm about willing to put money on Nike SB going through its second boom here soon. Once they take the "sb" tags off the shoes, the older stock will fly off the shelves to sneakerheads because the sb line will technically have been discontinued.
