Busenitz vulc, the cupsole MUST stay

Hopefully they leave the cupsole unaffected, It'd be nice to have a choice between vulc and cup though.

damn, i love the og busenitz but like some others here, i just couldn't enjoy skating them. black suede with a white sole and i'd be sold on a busenitz vulc. been trying to find some black/white adi-ease, but i can only find wacky ass colors in that shoe, it looks like it'd be a great one to skate.

It is! & for such a thin shoe, it seriously lasts forever. Even the canvas ones.

i'll trust your advice as you seem to be somewhat of an expert when it comes to shoes. i'm planning on going to seattle in 2 weeks, and hoping to find some in that area. i know for sure that this shop beside the lynnwood mall has an extensive adidas selection, can't remember the name of it, but it's sick. 35th or NE, one of those.

agreed. it looks like adidas skate like early 2000's they sold at foot locker.
im an adidias fan. a cupsole fan. and a silas fan. but this thing is kind of busted. its like 80% there...same with the puig. so close, but something is off on both...

I enjoyed skating my busenitz, but I always end up back with a vulc shoe. I want them to keep the originals around because it's great, but I'm pretty hyped on a vulc version. Ever since the video of him talking about the design process and they showed a vulc sample I've wanted it.

have fun with all those ripped laces, no doubt that the round ones last infinitely longer. they only have the weak ass flat ones so the shoe doesnt look too "edgy" for all the vulc-crazed berrics fanboys such as yourself.

if anything the round laces would rip faster because they stick out more.  the recessed eyelet technology on adidas shoes was made for flat laces

id be willing to bet money that those round laces would do better in an abrasion test regardless.

most likely, but that's besides the point.  the flat laces lay on the shoe with the recessed eyelets so that nothing is sticking out, therefore they dont face as much abrasion as the round laces which will definitely stick out more

its not like the eyelets would protect the regular laces that much, they would still rip considerably faster than the nylon ones. the shoe was specifically made for durability and was inspired by a mountain boot. not once have i seen regular ass shoelaces on a mountain boot.

rad, thanks man. if you could compare the thinness of the adi-ease to the rowley spv what would you say? i'm on some spv's at the moment, and i'm finding them to be a tad thin for my liking now that they are pretty much toast.

I agree Adidas hasn't pulled of the cupsole-that-looks-vulc'd thing. That sole looks way too bulky the cut out line in the middle below the foxing doesn't help.

Despite some bad colorways, the OG Silas looked way better than the new ones.

I wish I could find these.

og silas is prob one of the most underrated skate shoes of all time. skate like a dream, light as fuck, flexable, good cushioning and grip, perfect board feel. i like the busenitz alot, but i love the silas soo much more. you can usually find em on ebay for a good price too

Just give it up.

Round laces are stronger and last longer.

I would have thought that a sneakerhead such as yourself would appreciate my form-over-function approach to picking my laces, but alas, I was mistaken. I have a big-ass collection of laces anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

I'd have to reserve judgement until I see them in person and tied up, but I will agree that they do pull off the round laces better than most shoes.

Funny that you ask, I tried on the SPV this week because I'm finishing up this summer skate shoe article and I thought it'd be good for the list. Anyways, the SPV and Adi-Ease are totally different. The SPV are ridiculously thin whereas the Adi-ease have a tradition feel with some memory foam-like sockliners on the inside for extra comfort and protection, even for a thin shoe. It's seriously one of my favorite thin shoes to skate.

was just talking about the SPVs in another thread.  they were awesome shoes to skate, but you can definitely feel even the slightest pebble in them, but i liked em regardless.  if you had monkey feet you could grip the board with your toes they are so flexible.

i havent tried the adi-ease yet, but it's on the list for someday.   ive been leaning towardws vans since the adidas campus went uber-bulk a couple years ago, or whenever that was...
