I recently went through a Pokemon game obsession thanks to zipzinger666. Played Emerald for an entire weekend on my computer using a GBA driver. I have no life.

Same. I emulated a GBA and have been playing Leafgreen and silver nonstop lately.

first search gba emulator, download it onto your desktop. then download the rom (cartridge) of the game you want to play, and open the emulator and drag the rom onto the emulator screen.

Here is the gameboy. Just download it and open it to start up the gameboy
http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/gba/vboyadvance.html

Here is pokemon Leaf Green. Once its finished, just drag the file to over to the gameboy and it will start up
http://www.coolrom.com/roms/gba/14251/Pokemon_-_Leaf_Green.php

since you have the GBA downloaded you can play any game you want, just gotta find the file and download them

If wifi capabilities for handhelds were around in 1998, pokemon would have probably been the biggest phenomenon of all time.

i also took squirtle the first time i played.

ill try and run it down as best i can:

pokemon green is the original japanese one (i have one) never came out in english
red and blue are basically the exact same game just slightly better graphics in battle and just very minor minor fixes to the game
yellow is the same game only pikachu follows you around (more like the tv show) and some of the battles are a tiny bit different

then they came out with the 2nd ones which i believe are gold and silver for GBA, there may have been a 3rd much like yellow i forget
then they basically re-released the original 2 on GBA called Fire Red and Leaf Green they allowed you to set an item onto pokemon, you could have a hotkey item to select, graphics were completely redone, lots of minor changes to the game play.

then for DS they came out with platinum and i think emerald, and now they have a dimaond one which i think is the newest one and again a version that is much like the original yellow. and then they also re released the GBA ones on DS and called them heartgold and soulsilver. i think those are actually kind of old now tohugh i could be wrong.

no gold and silver (and crystal) were still for the game boy color

Game Boy: Red, Blue and Green, then Yellow
Game Boy Color: Gold, SIlver and Crystal
Game Boy Advance: Ruby and Sapphire, then FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald
Nintendo DS: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, then HeartGold and SoulSilver, and in a year or so Black and White

had to look it up, didn't have a clue there were this much of them, kinda lost track after the GBA ones

The TV show was pretty good until somewhere around the orange island saga where it became the same 4 episodes repeated.

I used to play Yellow on my GBC, so it couldn't have only been for Gamboy. I remember everything had a yellow tint.

FUCK that rival trainer who steals the other pokemon, dude always picks whatever pokemon is best against the one you pick, bullshit

Im stuck at one part because I have fucking rattatas and pidgeys and all these gay pokemon and he has all these beast ones

games pretty fun though, apparently once you get to a certain point you can travel to the original island from the first game and pick one of charmander squirtle or bulbasaur

charmander was always my dude but might have to get squirtle so once he transforms into blastoise im reminded of rawbs sex stories

errr all original gameboy games can also be used on the gbc

Frisco, I also picked charmander cause charizard is pretty rad, but he was also the toughest to train or use against the first two gym leaders, fire vs earth and fire vs water. Bulbasaur was the easiest to start with, but he's not as cool as charmander or squirtle.

who did you pick at the beginning now?
