I went to a best trick contest in Merritt Island, FL with Mulder, TimTim and some other no names and turns out it was a full on relegious deal! They showed a video with decent footage but before everyone's part they'd talk about how much Jesus meant to them and such. Then preached at everyone. I was shooting photos on the course and some guy with the god squad came up to me saying
"You can't be on the course." and was pushing me back.
"That's fine, but you don't need to push me."
And he kept pushing me!
"You don't want photos from your contest?"
"You can't be on the course." (I was on the side of the course. Their filmer was right in the middle of the set of stairs that the best trick contest was happening on. Christians, eh?

mulder has always been religious.  he always thanked the lord first and foremost for giving him all he has earned.  skateboarding is fucking lame now so what does it matter?  you've got people dressing up in costumes (chris cole), style faking fuckheads (ronson lambert), handrail chomping retards that couldn't do a good looking trick even if they tried because they learned how to ollie down 4 stairs before they ollied over 4 boards (matt dryer), and people who just plain don't deserve the ridiculous amount of money they make (bam margera).  it's just a popularity contest where often times the popularity DOESN'T come from skill at skateboarding, it comes from other shit like video games or tv shows or whatever.  the ones who actually have skill are being overshadowed by the assholes trying to get in the limelight and earn name recognition from the naive kids.

he's smart.  fuck the industry.  i don't even know why i still skate anymore, after seeing the downward spiral skateboarding has dragged itself into.  but i just can't let that board sit there...
