mulder has always been religious. he always thanked the lord first and foremost for giving him all he has earned. skateboarding is fucking lame now so what does it matter? you've got people dressing up in costumes (chris cole), style faking fuckheads (ronson lambert), handrail chomping retards that couldn't do a good looking trick even if they tried because they learned how to ollie down 4 stairs before they ollied over 4 boards (matt dryer), and people who just plain don't deserve the ridiculous amount of money they make (bam margera). it's just a popularity contest where often times the popularity DOESN'T come from skill at skateboarding, it comes from other shit like video games or tv shows or whatever. the ones who actually have skill are being overshadowed by the assholes trying to get in the limelight and earn name recognition from the naive kids.
he's smart. fuck the industry. i don't even know why i still skate anymore, after seeing the downward spiral skateboarding has dragged itself into. but i just can't let that board sit there...
You know, the industry isn't everything... Just becuase you aren't happy with the current state of the industry, it doesn't make skateboarding lame. If you're thinking about quitting skating becuase of the industry, maybe you should because you don't love the act of skateboarding. I'm not nessicarily telling you to quit skating, I'm sure you're just exaggerating with the "I don't even know why I still skate" but speaking generally there are a lot of people who just don't have the right mindset. Using skateboarding as a vehicle for pushing religious propaganda on a larger audience is wrong. Religion isn't supposed to be something you're pressured into beliveing. But if people really are religious then they should be able to express it personally without peple jumping down their throats.

^^being a guest on the 700 club and doing a demo that incorporates christian propaganda is not simply "expressing it personally"

Why the fuck should I care about the industry? I'm not sponsored and I'm definitely not a paid professional. I don't care about the industry, I'm just getting old. I'm 24 and I still skate because I just can't quit. I do love to do it, but I'm never going to go anywhere with the actual act of skateboarding. It just isn't in me. I just moved into a house with my girlfriend, and skating definitely doesn't help pay the bills. That is why I don't know why I skate anymore, OK?
Richard Mulder, however, certainly is a paid professional and he HAS to care about the industry, otherwise he'll get dropped like a sack of shit. I am implying it is lame under his point of view as someone who is a big part of the industry, OK?

well then it was an inappropriate time/place to speak in general terms, dont you think? there are natural implications to be drawn with every statement, in context...

Well, I think you just answered the question of why you still skate, becuase you love it. I guess you're trying to tell me that from what would be the viewpoint of most people in society skating is worthless to you becuase it's not helping you monetarily. I agree that Richard Mulder has to care about the industry and it's part of his job in a way. I still don't understand why that would make anyone want to give up getting paid to skate.

Yeah and thats true about any statement regardless of what it is. People are always going to take away what they want from something. Although I did say I was speaking generally in my post. I agree with you that it's not really right for him to be on the 700 club. I don't really think that its right for there to even be a 700 club.
