when it comes to grip art i have absolutely no inspiration or ideas about what to do.

I would love to customize my board but i don't know how to make such intricate stencils

Get an image, cut it out and you have yourself a stencil. I think it's actually pretty simple, but it requires a lot of time and patience just to get one good stencil, and if you want to do more colors than one, you'll need separate stencils for those.

I once did a stencil of this in a burst of sudden inspiration, and never since have I wanted to try it again . I tried to get as much of the details in as I could. Few beers and an array of blades.

Newest board, made this just a few minutes ago. Kept some traces of white from the old graphic, did a modified/blind contour line drawing of my arm, and i added some stain to the edges.

what do you use to paint your boards?

anything.
it depends if its just for the wall or if its going to be skated.
if im gonna skate it (like the arm board), then i make sure to use stuff (paint, ink, pencil, whatever) that won't be sticky (which that stain that i used on the arm board is still drying and im not sure if it'll be tacky or not after drying, but if so, i'll just buff it till it slides again)
but if im not skating it, then hell I'll use glue, melted wax, house paint, dirt, no holds barred, go wild.

That one is going to be hard to cut out. Those bricks for instance, if you cut out all the lines you're going to have a pyramid shaped hole and a lot of loose bricks. Even the text has some closed in areas that are going to fall out if you're not careful. Just keep that in mind and try to work around it.

i spray painted a shop board and clear coated it but it didnt slide worth a turd wat do you use to make it slidable after ya painted it.

thats cause you had too much paint on it. you cant let it get too thick.
first step i always take is to electricly sand the graphic off, get it down to bare wood.
and then when you do paint it, don't make it too thick or gobby, and a clear coat isn't necessary. if you want it to have a sheen to it just go with glossy-ier paints. stay away from thicker latex paints and stuff like that. spray paint works just fine, just make sure your not puddling it up.
also, you can always follow up a paintjob with a good buffing job with a super high light grit sandpaper/cloth.

strongly considering starting a company/project thingy with a friend when he moves out west here.
I want to see if i can get some sort of hookup with shipments of blanks through the shop, and then making unique one of a kind decks to sell at the shop.
I'm thinking of building a special display for them, have them segmented off away from the normal decks, sell them both to be skated or just to be hung.
I don't really want ti to be a company, or have a team, or any traditional business-like things to it.
just want each deck to be a special project that then gets put up for sale.
and maybe occasionally offer other stuff than just decks, like customized clothing and fun gadgets/doodads.

Got my hands on a wood burner. Sanded down an old board real fast and did this.

So psyched. The shop (Let It Roll in Las Vegas NV) is gonna let me start making and selling my graphics. They're going to be priced the same as normal boards. each one is going to be unique and handmade. Its going to give me a reason to keep producing things and push my processes. and who knows, maybe it'll lead to something more.

bought an awesome cabinet that i need to stain black and equip with some mounting hardware to display the boards.
Going to be hunting down some interesting frames to pair with it. Maybe have a piece of old parchment paper with an explanation of the project and the fact that these things are for sale and meant for both use as wall art or to be ridden.

got the cabinet finished. take a look. (pay no attention to the decks in there now, those are just place holders)
getting the first samples sometime next week. after that, make a decision on the wood to go with, place my first order, wait for them to arrive, and then get cranking on some graphics. I can't fucking wait for this ball to start rolling.

just finished painting on a stain to this box I've been building. Gonna throw a little impromptu contest at the local park with it in a week or two. The "Winner" is gonna get the first board I've made for The Cabinet (I've started it, but its still nowhere near done. lacking motovation/inspiration for what the final look of it is gonna be.)
