No questions just a story.

I'm from LA, the first time I went up to SF to skate (a long time ago.. late 90s) I was supposed to go skate super early but ended up waking up late and by the time I got to Pier 7 I think, it was packed and dudes where rippin I was just going to turn around because it was honestly intimidating. As I was sitting there Karl just showed up saying hello to everybody I always liked his style but I thought I was gonna get the cold shoulder but he ended up being one of the nicest dudes I met up there shooting the shit for a bit before warming up, after that I stayed and skated.

it made my decision to go to Berkeley (for school) a lot easier knowing I could go to SF and skate without feeling like so much of an outsider Smiley
thanks dude!

Hi Karl,

I was wondering what you think of Doug Brown?

I am not asking just to try to get you to hate on someone, I really don't know where I stand myself. Half of me thinks the whole thing is so hilarious that I am really glad he is around, posting footy and operating as a pro skater. I would actually say that I would rather watch his footy than other, more talented skaters because it is so funny.

However, the other half is pretty bummed that he is able to make a living off skating when guys that have real talent like Alex Chalmers have to pursue other ways of earning a living and are unable to focus solely on skateboarding.

To be honest Im kinda feeling this guy. I just checked out his site http://www.dougbrownskate.com/ and I was quite impressed. He has an unorthodox way of skating but his success goes to show that when you're stuck on being "cool" and impressing the next skater you most likely will not get too far.  Im backing Doug Brown.

I`d buy it!! You could even ride it barefooted and be comfortable if you wanted to... I was looking for a good cruiser anyway and this is better than all of what I've seen so far like the stereo or globe cruiser, I'd even prefer this here to the krooked ones.

I bet it would be possible to make a limited run, maybe 100 or so. the thing is the carpeting has to be done by hand, but the graphic could easily just be a printed one for a production piece (though I really DO enjoy the artifact-ness of one-offs)
I'd be more than happy to come work for Kayo or wherever for a short stint.

Universal, you hit it on the head with the comfort comment. I still haven't made one to keep for myself yet, but I got to ride one I made for a friend all day a couple of weeks ago (cause I had bruised my heel super early in the day and got demoted to backpack carrying duties)
and even with shoes on, and a bruised heel, I noticed that it felt super comfy under my feet. Like skating your livingroom floor itself.
AND you can still ollie pretty damn good on them.
