Haven't skated for a month or so due to school, but my buddy hit me up and I had some spare time, so we hit the street.
While skating down a street did a spontaneous kickflip up a curb. Never have done one, felt so good.

Hadn't been to my favorite park in about 8 months.  Went around noon today and was able to get an hour of skating in before the local high school got out.  In my absence from the park, they had completely resurfaced all the ramps.  Needless to say, it was a solid session.

The fact that I can fs flip, tre flip, and fakie flip pretty damn good, but my kickflips suck dick, it just goes to show that no matter how much you progress and learn you'll never win, it's a constant battle, I love that.

I set up a christmas complete yesterday and went out to skate the local park reluctantly. I say reluctantly because I don't really like new gear. I'll skate a board till it'd dead, wheels for months and months on end, trucks for as long as fucking possible. Hell, I even keep skating my shoes with huge holes and not tread just cause they're comfy and I'm used to them.

However, yesterday was different. My new set up felt fucking awesome right out the gate!! Even beat a friend in skate that I never beat!

Stacks 8.25
Indy 139 Koston hollow pros
Bones swiss
jessup grip
broadcast 52mm wheels (made at creative!)
and some fresh lakias!

Last night, was skating around Midtown & spent about 10 minutes trying this kickflip over a chain into a janky little bank thing & had the awesome experience of finally sticking it right as the security guard was rushing out to shitcan me... love when that happens.

Also: there were two cops standing right in front of me the entire time who didn't even glance at me. Fucking love New York...

All the ramps were wet, so I skated the flatbar instead and learned 4 or 5 new tricks. I forgot how good I am at skating flatbars.

Finally skating with some old homies that haven't skated in a while cuz of school, work, etc.

Learned fakie inward heels, learned how to do legit kickflips (I always only landed 2/20 tries unless I popped it half an inch off the ground).

setting up a new board, going to a spot I didn't ride for about a year now, doing wallie over everything and discovering new quickfeet lines to do.

I did some railslides after not skating the past month due to knee tweak. Also, my 4 year old son finally let go of me and rolled solo. That felt even better.

i particularly enjoyed trying to kickflip over an 8 stair rail for the best part of an hour only to  leave broken shoe'd, broked deck'd and heelbruised to buggery

Fat fakie ollies over stuff.

I can feel to this

Also, crisp back 180 over rail. The kind where you feel it come up and sweep the last 90 with your back foot.

I set up my board with these huge green soft-wheels, kryptonics i got off a set of rollerskates. After a heated solo rush though downtown with the hot summer sidewalk (and the jocks-jeering), a breezy cruise at the skatepark ensued. I particularly enjoyed the soundlessness of the ride, save the soft purr of the bearings, the absence of necessity to push and the possibility to just hover, float and glide.

Found a decent skatepark here in Rhode Island. There were kids on scooters, people sitting on shit that I would like to skate, and overwaxed rails but I still had a good ass time. Pretty excited to go again tomorrow and then leave Rhode Island to go back home to VA.

Met up with a dude I haven't skated with in a while. we've skated the park but not a real spot. We were at our shitty little park when he was like "Dude, I want to film something but I don't know what". Jokingly, I said "Just hardflip a set" to which he replied "how about that 8 stair we used to skate". We went there and he got it done in less than 10 tries. That's what I love about this dude, he can not skate for a good month and then hardflip a set no problem. sorry about the size of this picture. and yeah, he did it in vans eras.

First session on a vert ramp, padless (which is not really smart, for a first time).
I was super stoked, just by dropping and doing some shitty 5.0/powerslides on the coping, both sides.
Can't wait to go back, and try some real things.
