Just when I was going to start a petition to get me a raise at work, the tide turns on petitions.

there are currently 21,103 registered members on slap, so for the sake of argument let's assume they are 21,103 individual people. there are approximately 12.5 million skateboarders worldwide (citation), so if every one of slap's members voted on a petition they would speak for approximately 0.16% of the world's skate population (that's not 16%, 0.16 of 1%).

just something to keep in mind when you mistakenly think that what happens on this forum carries any weight whatsoever in the skateboarding industry.

You can find specific technical stats to back up any arguement, doesn't mean you're right. Sweets has said when he worked for tum yeto they paid him to lurk the boards and keep track of trends here. Jaimie wouldn't have created an account if he didn't care about the bad rep he had on here previously. Slap matters. Less now that its run over by teenagers though.

Ban petitioners.

You do realize that you should now be banned for petitioning against petitioners.

thats not quite how it works, its about stastics. if half of the people on here vote for a certatin thing, they will use that to say %50 of skateboarders voted in such a way or prefer a cretain thing.

just like in hair product adverts when they say 9/10 women would reccoment this product, you dont say "yeah but thats just 9 women what about all the other women in the world.

Statistics and ratios my friend

Signed!   Those petition threads are pointless.  They will turn pro eventually if they are really good, they don't need online petitions to do so.

Imagine this "your skating is pretty good, but we turned you pro because of a petition on Slap"

I hate the petitions too, because they're misused lately. Pete eldridge it made sense for because he fell out of the spotlight. The petition proved he had some marketability, more importantly it had guys over 20 saying they would buy a black box product.which is obv. not their core demographic. The industry is about making money, skills aren't enough anymore.
