Just got a free PSP, need suggestions

I got a free PSP, it was in the lost and found at my moms work for over a year and was about to goto the Salvation Army before she snagged it for me. Came with a 4GB memory card and a copy of NBA2k11, I just need to myself a charger and a usb cord and I plan on modding it out for the classic games and systems.
 My real questions is for PSP owners,
1. I've looked up how to mod it, and once I find out the firmware it should be easy, anyone else mod theirs out?
2. Can anyone suggest some great or their favorite PSP titles?
3. Anything else I should know about what this lil machine's capable of?

any help would be dope, I'm stoked to have a handheld system again after I sold my Game Gear and Game Boy light, I can finally play video games while chilling outside, waiting at the Dr's or some shit and best of all while dropping a deuce.
