Pondering quitting my job and selling my tiny flat and go travelling for a couple of years. I wanna see America, South America, maybe Africa too. So tired of living in Norway. My life is going nowhere. Six months of winter sucks. It is not a very sensible thing to do. I might  come back all broke and with nothing to show for - that's very likely actually. But maybe I'll have the time of my life, and it it will all be worth it - coming back to nothing. There is so much adventure to be had. Maybe it will inspire me to write a book, a bestseller, no less. Ha! Maybe I'll meet the woman of my dreams. You never know?! I guess I'm a romantic.  

I've done it twice now, Australia in 09, South America last year, came back pretty broke both times.  And I don't regret a single thing.  You only the regret the trips you never took.

I have lots of gay friends, and the thing is that when they did eventually come out, their parents already knew. Chances are yours already do too, and it won't be as hard as you think. Just go to whichever you get on better with, or both and simply say it. Unless they are narrow minded homophobic fucks, they'll still love you.

I was faced with same decision once and I decided to go for it. Five year later im still out and about in the world at large. Met a girl, she broke my heart. im a permenant resident of another country now. I have seen so many wonderfull things and met so many close friends. everything I own still fits in my backpack and yet I feel at home.

Do it, do it now and never look back.

And sleepypancakes, If you have any uncles or aunts or even close family friends you can go to for advice this can be a really helpfull first step, take some of the pressure off the big coming out andget some much needed insight into how your parents might react. Even if they love and support you fully the initial news could illicit some upsetting behaviour.

I figured out for myself my senior year in high school and knew for sure, but I had wondered. I of course did the whole trying with girls thing and even had girlfriends for long periods of time. I was never that into it and realized that I wasn't bi or anything and just felt right and normal and like myself with other men.

my parents have pretty much fucked me in terms of college... i never had any idea what area i would want a degree in, but theyve been forcing me to go to school and just take basic "core" classes for like the last 2-3 years (2-3 because i dropped some and re did them and am supposed to be finishing the last of the core classes this semester). thinking about it the last few days i really want to be a pharmacist... but after looking on some pharmacy school websites, it pretty much is telling me the classes you need to take before pharmacy school are almost nothing i have taken, and almost everything i have taken was pointless; including the classes i dropped, and now i only have 1 class left that i can drop.

with the financial situation that im in, and the locations where my parents live (divorced), i really dont have great options no matter how you look at it... so im wondering what the fuck im supposed to do now. just let this shit fuck me and say "oh well" and pretty much start over at school, getting into debt not living at home while still paying for classes with little to no educational background, and hope i can become a pharmacist? the "pharmacist plan" takes like 2 years of basic shit at any school, and then 4 years at pharmacy school, and thats if i dont fuck the classes up from failing or some shit... since i can only drop 1 more of them. theres a lot more that makes this a lot more complicated but i have no idea what to do....

Well Im origionally from a small seaside tow in Scotland Called Ayr, I moved to Glasgow for university and a bit more space, traveled here and there around Europe on my summers and after graduation, Barca, munich, Paris, Copenhagen. And then started seeing a girl who was from Canada, and so decided to come out here for a bit and visit her.

First moved to a kinda liberal arty University town called Guelph, close enough to Toronto and the skate scene there, then moved to Ottawa where I live now. Applied and was granted residancy along the way, due to my girlfriend and my Job with the University. And yeah as of now I cant see myself leaving here. If anything ill move around the country and see as much as I can but yeah, i dunno I just found somewhere that fits me.

My family is from Ohio. But thankfully we aren't super conservative. I told my mom and she knew, my dad wasn't upset or anything. I have 3 brothers to carry on the "family name"
