Benefits of tight trucks: nothing.
Benefits of loose trucks: turning, maneuvering, fun.

There is more Bieber coverage on Slap than one would expect from a bunch of manboys arguing the minutiae of rollerboard stunts. Actually now that I type that it kinda makes sense.

You, can't even skate well enough to tell the difference. I hate little faggots like you so much. You probably don't even skate loose enough to even say you skate loose. You're a faggot.

I like my trucks between "loose" and "you're a faggot". Been riding them like that for years.

There's nothing wrong with loose trucks. I used to skate really loose, until i realized that I like not getting wheelbite. It's just i know that fag doesn't even skate loose and is saying that because it's "cool" to have loose trucks, and looking for approval from some faggots. The kid can barely roll on a skateboard talking about loose trucks. Get the fuck out. Kids like him and victor piss me off, because their opinions are manufactured specifically to get props from fags that post on slap.

I prefer my trucks loose, I used to have them insanely tight. I changed it because no matter how much I leaned to the left or right, I just wouldn't turn. They feel better loose for me too.

i skate them as loose as theyl go, even have to use hi trucks with risers to try and avoid wheelbite.
benefits?... fun, easier to land things that arent fully rotated, dont like the feeling of tight trucks, makes bombing hills feel scarier too (which i like)

i skate about as loose as i can get but my front truck is always more loose as my back one. i get really specific about my board and how it feels and since im too much of a pussy to change my washers ive skated a wile without the upper washer in my front truck.
i do notice that when ever i skate my homies decks (all super tight) they feel snappier, like the deck is brand new. so i geuss i get more controll on tight trucks but miss out a bit on the fun factor

None of my skater friends read slap boards. They all ride 7.5 boards and trucks so tight they tick-tack everything. I used to be one of them. Since I started lurking Slap I've changed to 7.75 boards and loosened my trucks so I can turn but not wheelbite with my skinny frame. Maybe it's lame to receive opinions from Slap, but being able to turn is fun.

mine got tighter recently, a year ago it was factory looseness with indy soft bushings, then i tightened them to skate big tranny one time, then they got shitty and i got ventures, which i tightened up a little more with regulation bushings. hoping to go back to indy lows soon, but thinking now the height doesn't really affect anything

Not quite super glue loose, but soft bushings and no kingpin sticking out loose. I think the best part of loose trucks is when a friend steps on your deck and can't do anything at all because they're used to medium tight trucks. Its just entertaining seeing almost everyone else wobble all over on my board when I smooth sail on it. The downside of it is the effect it has on learning flip tricks.

Whoa dude, you are wayyyy fatter than the pictures of you imply!
I don't know if my trucks are loose or tight, they are just where I like them. Anybody who's trucks are tighter than what I ride are tight in my opinion, anybody who rides looser ride them loose in my opinion. Based on others riding my board, my trucks are pretty loose.
Loose trucks- pros:better for tranny and just feel good. You can get groovy when you push around and when you skate some sketchy tranny it helps you grab the wall better, same with wallrides and wallie type stuff
cons: wheel bite, speed wobbles
I kinda disagree that powerslides are easier on loose trucks though, they just feel different. Loose trucks make you feel like you are leaning into it, whereas if your trucks are tight, its kind of a flat slide. Really wheels are the difference makers in powersliding.
Tight trucks- help focus the energy of your tail to give you a little bit more pop, easier to balance grinds and manuals for longer, board is more responsive to flip tricks, easier to go faster without speed wobbles
cons: tic tacking, makes it harder to pump tranny
Honestly, my trucks depend on what I am skating at the moment. Living in SF I skated basically hills, wallrides, and tranny, and at one point rode without a top bushing. In LA I skate more ledges and shit, so the trucks are considerably tighter, but still pretty loose by most standards

i think the average slap setup looks quite different...
anyway. loose trucks all the way. bushings are for turning not for squeezing them. if you like tight trucks drill a hole in a stone and replace your bushings with it.

i skate really loose trucks. but i don't get too gnarly--no real gaps or anything, and nothing that makes me go light-speed. skating big bowls, i'll get speed wobble sometimes, and tighten them a bit. if i were gnar, i'd probably skate tighter trucks, since when you go faster, you turn harder, and don't need trucks as loose. also, i get wheelbite all the time (although i wax my wheel-wells so it's not as bad). loose trucks rule for how i skate, but there are definite drawbacks if you want to get serious.
