I've wanted to do this trick for so long, but I never get past 180, and just can't seem to spin them.  full cabs are easy, so why aren't these?

any advice would be really appreciated.

I've found it easier to focus on the shoulders. When your winding up, wait until your shoulders are facing the opposite direction then pop so its just like your unwinding.

I just learned them yesterday but I've been practicing them for a while and have tried different methods. What I do now is put my back foot in a tre position to get that scoop and put my front foot sideways in the middle of the board. I wind my shoulders up and scoop the tail and pop while trying to be as light on my front foot as possible. When there isn't any weight on my front foot I find it easier to get the full 360. I think this is why alot of people's front foot comes off during a bs 360. Watching Dill do one helped me alot. Say what you want about the dude but he's got one of the best back 3's.

Except for a few people, I really dislike when one's front foot comes off in a b/s 360.

Easiest trick if you learn it on a hip first.
Put alot of weight on the back trucks.

no really great hips here.  even our park as great as it is, doesn't have a proper hip.  always felt like that would help too.

keep the advice coming.  i'm trying to have a breakthrough

Plenty of wind up and pop. I am 90% on landing this trick, I just land one footed. So don't do that. No joke, try to imitate/imagine yourself as Dill. It works a little.

I tend to put a larger part of my back foot on the tail than with any other trick, it feels weird but it seems to work as it doesn't flip anymore

Front foot halfway between normal ollie and kickflip position and back foot in scoop mode or ollie position if it's off a sizable bump. I usually dive the nose and tilt my body towards the nose as well. Not only does that facilitate scooping the board up, but also squares away your weight distribution on the landing. It also stops the momentum to keep spinning. It's similar to how vert dudes do proper McTwists where they're upside down.

I'm not good at them, but when I do land one it feels like I'm pretty much looking backwards and turning before I even pop. Dunno if that helps.

For years I would try them every once and a while and did the opposite.  I would wind up and pop with my shoulders fully cocked.  I can pop kinda high but I still have to cheat a bit, but the only way I do this is to do what you said.  Wind, cock shoulders back, spin, and then pop after shoulders have already turned.  Also try to focus on keeping your weight back so you don't land on your nose and slip out, which is hard to do because you lean in as you turn your shoulders before you pop.

Just learned them today after not trying them since last year. I landed two in a row and I'm pretty hyped on that. I'm pretty much still sticking to my previous post about this trick even though when I posted it I really didn't know back 3s. It was more of a 270 to late ass extra 90 and even those weren't consistent. Now I do em full 360. I think I can land them now because last year I was much heavier than I am currently so now it's a lot easier to do it properly without that extra weight. The only thing I disagree with about my previous post is the whole put the back foot in a tre position thing. I put my foot near that pocket so I can scoop but I don't do it in a tre position which is more of a standing on the toes kind of deal. I also try to pop high instead of focusing so much on the spin but I still try to spin fast. All the shoulder and head tips people have been giving are important too.

First things first, learn them on pyramids first, because all you need to do is 270's, first you need to,

Get speed

Wind up

pop

Lean down

throw your shoulders (but not to hard)

And try to stay centerd

a big problem is that people throw themselves to hard, try to under rotate over throwing your board

take my advice with a grain of salt as i'm not exactly great at this trick but here are a few things i found to help me.

Putting my front foot just above the middle of the board seems to be the sweet spot. Too far back and its easier to spin but i lose control. too far forward and its much much harder to spin but i am in control. to far forward and at best I will do a low 180 with a 180 pivot. lame.

I set up my back foot much like an impossible almost perpendicular to the board. This helps me scoop the board around with me. At the moment i pop I try to think of myself as scooping an impossible but jumping around 360 with it. This is just my mind set at it helped me almost straight away.

this trick is tough as nails. I honestly cannot comprehend how people take this down giant gaps.
