In an interview, David X. Cohen revealed that the episode writer Ken Keeler, a PhD mathematician, penned and proved a theorem based on group theory, and then used it to explain the plot twist in this episode.
The episode is based on an irreversible body swap scenario. The proof demonstrates that, no matter how many minds have been swapped, each can be returned to its original body by using only two additional individuals who have yet to swap minds with anyone, and without swapping between the same pair of bodies more than once.
the actual theorem is on that wikipedia link if you want to check it out.

The Turritopsis nutricula, aka, 'Immortal Jellyfish', can revert to the polyp stage after becoming sexually mature through the process of transdifferentiation. Theoretically, this process can go on indefinitely, effectively rendering the jellyfish
biologically immortal

I never knew much of anything about him, but it seems he ushered in(or kept going, not sure) the current era of insecure politicians trying to control everything around them.operating out of fear. Also just like a modern day right wing extremists, he persecuted homosexuals while being one himself.

The global drug trade is estimated at just slightly less than 1% of world commerce. That is pretty insane!

I started reading that and got excited because it seemed like the start to a really interesting story about a place that is 1300 miles from any other human contact. Maybe some crazy mystery about the most remote place in the world.
But all I learned is that place is far away from anyone else, and it's about 60 degrees all year round.

"The literature includes single-case studies of exceedingly rare and idiosyncratic paraphilias. These include an adolescent male who had a strong fetishistic interest in the exhaust pipes of cars, a young man with a similar interest in a specific type of car, and a man who had a paraphilic interest in sneezing (both his own and the sneezing of others)."
The main thing I got from the article is that men are way more likely to have a kink of some sort than women.

"Moondog, born Louis Thomas Hardin (May 26, 1916 – September 8, 1999), was a blind American composer, musician, poet and inventor of several musical instruments. Moving to New York as a young man, Moondog made a deliberate decision to make his home on the streets there, where he spent approximately twenty of the thirty years he lived in the city. (He did often maintain an apartment in upper manhatten though) Most days he could be found in his chosen part of town wearing clothes he had created based on his own interpretation of the Norse god Odin. Thanks to his unconventional outfits and lifestyle, he was known for much of his life as 'The Viking of 6th Avenue'."
I learned about a new musician and personality to look into. His music is discribed as using odd time signtures and following what he calls "snake time". he was inspired by his surroundings such as subway noises etc. I like what I've listened too so far.
