If they can get that superstar team I'm sure they won't mind. I remember reading that the Russian billionaire who owns the Nets doesn't care as long as they can build a winner. Their bench will definitely be lacking but I'm sure if Dwight joins they can scoop a few role players for the low like the Heat. Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, and Dwight Howard? That's a fucking squad! It'll take time for them to form chemistry and all that but I'm sure they can make the playoffs in the East.

Clippers are just stacking up all that talent tho, it'll be interesting how far they can go. The Western conference is lookin really crazy right now. Next season finna be tha shit!

I'm hoping he'll go OKC.  He could mentor Perry Jones and back up KD.
1/3 of the olympic b ball team has ties to Oklahoma, which is pretty cool.

Rumors of a LA, Orlando, & Cleveland trade with LA getting Dwight, Cavs getting Bynum, and the Magic pretty much wiping their financial slate clean for a much easier rebuilding process, getting rid of all their expensive contracts. LA would obviously have a championship contender and the Cavs would have a great young core to build around with Kyrie Erving and Andrew Bynum.

It's supposedly been debunked but I find it to be a very interesting scenario. I guess Cleveland wants to be 100% sure that Bynum would be willing to resign next year before they agree to anything, and of course Dwight would have to do the same in LA.

Howard needs to accept the fact that he fucked up the chance to play in Brooklyn by opting for that final year with Orlando and just go to LA. I'm sure the only reason he doesn't want to go there is because he'll basically be in Shaq's shadow, but that's his fault. If he wasn't so eager to claim his "loyalty" to Orlando all this drama coulda been avoided and he would've very easily been able to sign with the Nets. I know he wanted to be a part of history in Brooklyn, but damn nigga just take the consolation prize of a good chance for a title with LA.

YUPP! I know hes possibly the biggest flopper in the league but whenever the suns palkyed the rockets he would hit every jumper he took and kill us on the boards.  Im really happy with this pickup...good luck on getting dwight though man, no other reason for scola to be amnestied

Actually, the Rockets had a method to their madness.

I can't find the article by David Aldridge but basically he was saying that waiving Scola was to get cap space for possibly Dwight but if that didn't work they'd save it for other free agents this offseason or a big name star next year. The Rockets were only going to trade ONE of their 3 rookies along with other players/future pick for Dwight. They weren't trying to gut the majority of the team for one superstar and an aging Scola with a fairly large contract wasn't going to help them in their rebuilding process, regardless of what they were going to do.

I summarized that shit pretty poorly due to bad memory but you get the idea. I too assumed the same thing at first but it was actually a smart move on Houston's part

Looks like Antawn Jamison will be a Laker, and the Raptors trade James Johnson to the Kings for a future 2nd round pick.

Damn, one summer league game that should have been live on tv, Memphis and Wizards. Josh Selby from the Grizz went for 35 points and 7 steals, it was pretty impressive.

I wanna see if the Rockets keep their 3 rookies and form a young nucleus around Lin. I think they have the potential to become a solid  team if they all grow & develop together.

As long as Stern doesn't call it off tomorrow Dwight's going to LA ina 4 team trade

Lakers - Dwight Howard
76er's - Bynum & Jason Richardson
Nuggets - Andre Iguodala
Magic- Aaron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic & Moe Harkless

Glad to see LA get Dwight without giving up Gasol. If this team stays healthy (and possibly picks up Pietrus or Barbosa if possible) I see them in the WCF with the Thunder. Philly really improved  and I think if Iggy steps up flexes his veteran experience on a young team the Nuggets got their "go-to" guy.

Hopefully Mr. Illuminati himself doesn't nix the trade ala Chris Paul

Guess all teams benefited in some way or another. I have a feeling this is either going to be Dwights worst season or he'll totally destroy the west and have an amazing year. Pretty glad it's over. Got pretty annoying when Espn had daily Dwight updates. "no word today, but he did tweet what he had for lunch n brunch"

seriously guys, i couldn't even sleep last night i was so damn excited. a new Laker dynasty is upon us and i hope Dwight realizes that this will be his team in a few years if he decides to stay in L.A.

(so many championship trophies up there)

full press conference

Dwight Howard Lakers Introductory Press Conference 8-10-12 Part 1

Dwight Howard Lakers Introductory Press Conference 8-10-12 Part 2

Dwight Howard Lakers Introductory Press Conference 8-10-12 Part 3 FINAL

i can't believe Mitch Kupchak pulled this off without having to let go of Pau. he's cemented himself as one of the greatest NBA General Managers of all time today. not only did he secure DH12, but he also signed guard Jodie Meeks to a 2 year deal (the final piece to the puzzle imo.)

http://lakernation.com/2012/08/lakers-sign-sg-jodie-meeks/

the line-up as of right now is:

Steve Nash
Kobe Bryant
Metta World-Peace
Pau Gasol
Dwight Howard

Antawn Jamison
Jodie Meeks
Jordan Hill
Devin Ebanks
Steve Blake
Chris Duhon
Earl Clark
Darrius Morris
Andrew Goudelock

the future is lookin good for  Los Angeles.
