i love Bird's comment on that dunk"
"BIRD: Even Charles (Barkley), they?re always talking about dunking. Charles was a dunker, but he?s more of a passer, a power player. But everybody gets caught up in these dunks. I mean if somebody dunked on ya, and you come down and hit a three, who?s ahead? You know, I never did get that."
the dunk was incredible, i admit, but it's crazy how the game has changed and the only thing that really get's highlighted to this crazy extent anymore is dunking. that's how you get people like andray blatche and the entire wizards roster for example, a low basketball i.q. generation of players.

It seems like Rubio is changing that, him and team teams like the pacers, nuggets, sixers, jazz, wolves and blazers even who have little to no marquee players/perrineal all-stars who do there thing and make team basketball exciting and make everyone forget about the and1 mix tape generation that spawned your ball hog iso mentality.
I love monster dunks like any other guy but a great pass always makes me weak in the knees.

man dunks have been around for decades. its just that with the freakishly athletic players of today there's more potential for crazy ass dunks, which ALWAYS look good on the highlight reel. dont forget that alot of the best in-games dunks are set by excellent passes as well. that 3-player alley-oop miami did awhile back was nuts

did the pass have any sort of play in the highlight reel? what kid growing up wants to be the passewr and not the dunker? i'm not an idiot, dunks have been around since the evolution of a man jumping....i'm not arguing the act of dunking, i'm arguing the shadow of whole game high basketball i.q. being undermined by single play athleticism

That Derrick Rose ACL tear is heartbreaking fam. Bull's still gon do good in the playoffs although im not sure if they can take the east without the star power.

He's not a guarantee. He has had his on moments in the play offs before, but overall isn't dependable in the post season.
I'm so fucking bummed about Rose. WHY LORD WHY?!?!
I stiill think the bulls have a shot, but an outside one. They were able to do pretty well even with Rose missing a big chunk of this season.
And for that dunk centric thing- Rose has some rad dunks, but overall does a lot more than just put the ball in the hoop. Such a bummer he's out...

congrats to the motherfucking Clippers. wow, that was a stunner. the game was 95-71 Grizzlies with 8 minutes left and they lost 99-98.
god damn.
the Lakers won today too, so i'm pretty happy at the moment.
(i feel for all you Bulls fans out there. that's my girlfriend's favorite team and she was so bummed when she found out about the Rose injury. they have a lot of heart and have played exceptionally well without him this season, so i hope they can eventually take down the Heat. it's not impossible.)

The heat are taking the east and there isn't much anybody can do about it. Boston will get beaten by the bulls in the second round, thats just a bad matchup for boston. The bulls will lose to the heat unless they can miraculously score above 50% from 3point territory for a whole series.

yeah saying the bulls have a 'shot', even an outside one is pretty dumb. their record without rose has nothing to do with evaluating a 7 game series against a team. it's just two complete different types of basketball (playoffs/regular season). the bulls have no chance whatsoever at winning a title without rose. i feel terrible for rose. such a bright spot for the league, the postseason just isn't the same without him.

Rondo fucked up. There is no way that was a "I was walking and tripped on the heel of your shoe" bump. Hope Stern clears him for Game 2 or else we're going to have some problems with Rondo out and Ray not dressing.
Memphis fucked up way harder then Rondo. They left Young just wide open every time. Super fun to watch that one fall to pieces for the Griz.
