Has anyone tried these? The wholesale is about $10 higher than a regular board so shops either have to charge around $60+ or take a huge cut to profit margin compared to a regular pro-model deck. Even charging $60 is a notable profit margin cut.

Anyone think they're worth it? Would you pay $10 more for one?

Thanks in advance. I'd especially like to hear from some shop guys about how they sell. Feel free to PM me. Thx again.

im surprised no ones ever made sometime to protect your board from chipping, like a thin rubber strip along the sides n whatnot. thats a million dolla idea. wouldnt be too hard to make the only problem i can see is it coming off when you get razortail, but im sure that could be solved with enough brainstorming & effort

not a bad idea, but I feel like a strip of rubber around the nose and tail would really kill the pop

Chapman did the removeable tip thing about ten years ago and I think Schmitt Stix did a board with an urethane bumper 20+ years ago.

i see its been attempted but that looks like too much of a hassle. as far as a rubber strip killing that pop (or possibly affecting slides) thatd have to be tested, or replaced by some other material like fiberglass or somethin.

it could also be like 2 seperate lil sleeves for the nose and tail. deck condom jokes galore. i should prolly get a patent or something before someone really goes & gets rich off this shit. if designed well im sure people would drop like $10-$15 for a reusable board accessory that prevents chipping

Schmitt Stix used to make decks with all around plastic edges in the 80's.
That idea didn't exactly catch on.

Nose guards and tail-bones were huge in the 80's but they went the way of the lapper and coper, for good reason. That stuff doesn't work with today's boards and tricks. P2 interests me but I'm not going out of my way to get one, mainly because of all the companies I know of that use P2, I don't buy those brands.

Does anyone know what the deal is with P2 manufacturing? Are they made in a separate factory than a standard board from Creature, Zero, Plan B, etc.? The diversity of the brands seems odd so it kind of makes me think that P2 is a separate company from a of them, they just pay the shop to make their shapes. I dig Creature as a company and would love to ride their stuff, their China boards just don't feel good to me, I miss the old NHS wood.

Back to the Girl pop-secret stuff, I don't skate Girl/Chocolate boards personally, the distributor I was looking at is selling that line at almost $50 wholesale so unless Girl Mfg sells them a lot cheaper direct then I don't see how anyone can retail them under $60, which is why I asked this question in the first place. I just decided not to order any.

As far as slate tech goes, I like the feel of good old fashioned wood so in my opinion the tech should be focused around improving glues, shapes, and finishing techniques in addition to using the highest quality wood, not putting other materials in the mix. My 2 cents.

I always thought ps stix should keep trying to improve on ibeam technology they had with new deal in the 90/early 2000s.

i think the P2 tech is some sort of 3rd party thing that different companies can use. the brands that have p2 boards are all on different distribution companies. id assume that each company still uses their own wood & just puts the kevlar insert at the top of each ply.

I have one, It is NICE! POP for sure and the wood seems harder than other girl boards.
I have the 8.5, it has a funny square tail, but I love it and it's holding up. Dont be a vagina and go try
one out. The extra money isnt going to ruin your life if you spend it.
P.S. P2's, Good, Double Impact's, Good, Fiberprime, good aswell
