Riots were definitely NOT invented in America, there have been bread riots since before the nation existed. Everybody knows its not a riot. a ton of riot cops showed up at hollywood and vine, and the media caught wind of it and sensationalized it before knowing what really happened. LA people know how to riot. If any city in the U.S. has a history of "proper riots" its probably LA.

Name one riot that has occurred in Berkeley in the last century. There have been many protests, and many have gotten rowdy, but NONE were riots. All the riots that happen in the bay tend to be in Oakland.

LA is racist as can be and always has been, and therefore, couple of years or so an insane race riot breaks out where people are killing eachother.
Here is a short list-
Rodney King- 1992
Chicano Moratorium riot- 1970
Watts- 1965
Zoot suit riot- 1943
The Chinatown race riot- 1871.

To whoever said we don't riot here because the police are too quick to hit the trigger, almost EVERY riot in the U.S. starts as a result of racial tensions boiling over because the police took it too far in enforcing the de facto segregation lines. King got his ass kicked for being in the Valley, the Chicano Moratorium had a protest of brown people in East LA that got too big and the police went nuts, Watts was a result of the constant police oppression, and was set off with the unjust arrest of Marquette Frye, and the Zoot suit riot started after pissed off soldiers kicked the shit out of the South LA Pachucos.
