Hard way turns out of or into grinds and slides are super sick, especially on transition and ledges.  Flip tricks up curbs "the hard way" are sick.  Sometimes I feel like it's called an "overturn" or "alley-oop" but other times those terms don't seem to apply, so "hard way" works.

Suciu's Thrasher part
Mark Suciu: Cross Continental Small | Large
The front crook frontside 180 out line in Love Park, that whole line is filled with super twisty and cool-looking ledge grinds.  Also, 0:55, 2:28, 4:07 (no one does em backside).  It's either all in his legs, or dude has 88,876 vertebrae.  He changes stance on a whim repeatedly and in counter-intuitive ways.

Another one I always think of is the last trick in this
CHRIS HASLAM - NEW PRO V SERIES by INDEPENDENT TRUCKS Small | Large
Backside 180 overturn to switch 5-0 I guess is what I'd call it.

As far as going the hard way over a rail - 3:08 in this vid.
Dobbin Block New footage Small | Large

and for hard way out of a grind, Suciu's new part pretty much broke all of the rules.

-noseblunts in the middle of a ledge, opposed to getting in behind the ledge at the end.
-nose grind pop outs wehre you lead with your nose, not your tail (no wiggle)

Austyn's alley oop 180 50-50 line in Origins was sick as fuck.

Oh, and in the new TSM Dan Lu is doing a front 360 over a rail but the rail is to his backside, which means alley oop front 360?

Alley-oop doesn't really apply on street. Alley-oop is when you do a trick on transition approaching one way and rotating the other. Austyn's trick is just 180-the-hard-way 50-50s and Dan Lu's is just a regular ass 360.

I always thought it's the hard way to do an bs 180° fakie 5-o, also because nobody does it that way. ... I'm fine if it's just a regular trick by itself

Sorry, but I had to bump this thread after getting The Skateboard Mag today.  Matt Bennett has a Crops photo doing a backside 360 the hard way over that handrail Shane O'Neil switch front bigspinned and switch flipped in NATV.  By far the sickest trick I've ever seen done over a handrail the hard way.  If I had a scanner I'd scan it in...

^ Super sick!

Spencer Hamilton is a beast at going over rails the most awkward way possible too. Plenty of examples out there but for one this backside heelflip at 5:35 in this. Cool dude, hope to see an Exp1 board with his name on it by the end of the year!

james hardy did a bunch of hard way tricks in his real part. the fs 180 switch bs 50-50 down clipper. and the nollie tre flip over the rail into the bank rolling bs at the rail.

and that matt bennett sequence is fucked up. been waiting to see that one.

mosaic - tim o connor and brian wenning (with tim o commentary)
Tim O'Connor's back 5-0 Front Shove out or as he said "the timmy". At 2:34.

that quicksilver shit had me rolling. Also, I like how you can watch Brian Wenning gain weight as the video progresses.

Damn Donkey Lips, I was just going to post this video, the dude who did that is a local from my city named Sal Viglietta, I was searching for the clip forever and just found it the other day. There was also a sequence in a 2007 issue of the skateboard mag and he said it also appeared on Fuel TV somehow, I guess Satva Lueng was there and filmed it at a better angle, I'm trying to find it. Either way Sal V has been a beast since I first seen him skate

When they show him fuck up and bail on that in his B Sides part, my heart stops every time. I cannot imagine how scary that must have felt.
