Prometheus - Official Trailer [TRUE HD]
Taken from The Playlist:
The IMDB synopsis, for what it's worth is this: A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
What's the tie-in to "Alien?" Rothman says only 5% fo the film ties into "Alien" and is way bigger than that film and more profound. Or as Scott himself in a recent issue of EW put it, ?The last eight minutes will evolve into a pretty good DNA of the Alien one.? Will this be a new franchise? "The audience decides that," Rothman said.
Interesting enough, the cast seems to disagree on how the two films tie-in together. There?s definitely a link to Alien,? Michael Fassbender told EW in the same issue, ?There?s creatures in it that you?ll recognize.? While Charlize Theron said, ?I think people should really let go of the idea that it?s an Alien film.?
Super stoked for this. It'll be really interesting to see if Ridley Scott can pull this off. Blade Runner (1982) was his last sci fi film so it's been a long time for him is this genre. However, all the shots in this trailer looks epic as fuck. If anyone can reboot this series properly, it's him.

I've been waiting for this flick for a while now. I'm super hyped on it! Just after the trailer was posted on the internet, i actually got so hyped, that i watche Alien and Aliens back to back. My friends think i'm super-geeky with this Alien universe fascination, but man, little do they know, that it's actually pretty much the most awesome sci-fi series of all time (Star Wars blasphemy?)!

No, you're right. I prefer the face suckers and space terror to the King Arthur myth in space.

I remember, when some years back Scott and Cameron sat down and had an idea for an Alien 5 movie, but the AVP films pretty much ruined that chance. Maybe i'm naive, but i'm hoping with the success of Prometheus, Scott and Cameron will change their minds.

pretty much. the first time i watched blade runner i was a little disappointed. i thought it would be all goofy like total recall because they're both based off of philip k. dick stories, but then i watched it again knowing that arnie's eyes weren't going to pop out at any given moment (which i'm not knocking in anyway, ridley scott and paul verhoeven are just two completely different directors) and i appreciated it for what it was.
with that being said, i can't wait for prometheus. it's actually a sci-fi flick that i'm anticipating, which i didn't think was possible considering all the sci-fi flops that hollywood has produced lately

By the synopsis before the trailer I wasn't convinced it was an Alien prequel.
When I saw the first white line of the title sequence I got unbelievably hyped, had to watch it again because I was just watching the letters

I really hope so. There is still so much more to do with the Alien series.
I think Blade Runner gets better the older you get. When I was younger, I cheered for Harrison Ford. Now that I'm older, I relate to Rutger Hauer more and more.

i have an extreme interest for this movie as watching alien, aliens and the sci fi channel took up a big chunk of my early elementary school days. I see the term "space jockey" mentioned a lot in the comments and i have no idea what that is so i google it and end up at a page that talks about how ridley scott and james cameron purposely made the movie as sexual as possible. like the facehuggers clinging onto peoples faces is supposed to provoke mental images of getting a penis shoved down your throat and the set directors made the set look like it was made out of penises and vaginas and shit....strange shit

Why do you think they asked H.R. Giger to help design the Alien world? His penis artwork is what got Dead Kennedys targeted by the PMRC.

avp suckedddddddddddddddddddddddd and avp requim was unwatchable.
i would rather forget those films. i honestly can't fathom what anyone was thinking when those were made. except for lance henriksen, he has movies he calls alimony films. films he makes for a quick bit of cash. cool guy, avp must be one of those films.
the avp games, books and comics were pretty good though.
