Heard this was true and never had it confirmed. Tried to call them to get an account for our shop even. ARE THEY MADE IN THE US?

I really don't think it exists anymore. Even US made Van's (except maybe some slip ons models still?) went the way of the Levi's, American originals made in Asian sweatshops.

No such thing anymore. Boycotting foreign goods is dumb though, those homies need the work much more than we do. And if a bunch of people boycotted sweatshop labor it would just mean a lot of people losing their shit jobs.

New Balances wouldn't make skate shoes in USA, they would be too expensive. Their US made sneakers (which are made with foreign materials) are over $100.

Check out these: http://www.autonomieproject.com/fair_trade/sneakers.html

They're fairtrade chuck taylor knock offs made with eco friendly materials. Gonna get some of the all black ones when I need new shoes. I bet they're much better quality than Converse.

well, I'm sure those very same jobs would benefit america's equally underprivileged workers. 1BN chinese consumers can demand enough for them to not lose their jobs anyway. less goods produced in china - less international shipping from china - less investments in china - everybody (expect china and maybe africa) wins!

on the downside it would prob. result in expensive skate shoes.
