That doesn't make business sense that Burton would "hold" DNA for a few years, but I'm no business man.

And also I agree with everyone that Dayton Ohio is the epicenter of East Coast, despite being 600 miles from the Atlantic Ocean.

I wonder is Dyrdek will axe habitat footwear since it could be a conflict of interest with DC, kinda like a small competitor? I do fully back his buying of DNA though, I don't think we will harm these company's.

Yeah that would be crazy if he axed it....considering he is attempting to only purchase AWS not DNA.  I love how everyone just speculates and blows everything out of proportion on here.

Dyrdek will have a tough time finding a financial institution to loan him 10+ Million dollars these days especially a skateboard company.  He will probably need 40% down instead of the usual 20% down.  My guess is he has some other investors involved in this deal.

i would think Habitat shoes would stay with Burton, it seems completely a Burton backed deal, plus Dyrdek isn't into Habitat.

When I first moved away from home, I moved to Dayton and all the kids were talking shit on Rob. It was crazy.

It was also the first time I'd seen black guys skating and legit girl skaters.

There hasn't been any actual evidence of which he is buying. You're saying that he isn't buying all of DNA, other people are saying he is, so who knows what he's actually going to do?

Burton COO Mike Rees sent a global email to all at the company mid-afternoon on Wednesday confirming that Burton is discussing the sale.

Rees's email:

"As some of you may have heard, pro skater Rob Dyrdek made an announcement last night at the Zumiez $100K party that he was buying Alien Workshop.

"While Rob's message was definitely premature, we did want to confirm that we are in an open dialog with him about a possible purchase. At this point, please note that nothing is confirmed, and we will absolutely do a formal announcement when and/or if that transition happens."

Rees said Workshop - not DNA. Wonder if Dyrdek will divorce the brand from Habitat.

From what i've heard from a pretty reliable source, Burton wanted to move DNA to Vermont, Dyrdek bought DNA to keep it in Dayton, Ohio. The deal includes Habitat and Habitat footwear.  Dyrdek also will not be making any changes and will continue to let Hill/Carter/Castrucci run things the way they currently are.

Berra usually does back-up vocals for Kesha.  He usually just fills in for whoever can't make it but he honestly isn't that bad.

I dunno.  Dyrdek has got to be pretty loaded these days.  Didn't Nyjah make $500,000 off Street League alone last year?  There's no way Dyrdek is making less money from Street League than anyone else.  And that's just one thing he's involved in.

Let me get in on the speculation pile-on. I bet rob didn't get much for the first couple years of street league, as a sign of faith that it will be successful and make espn/everyone money in the long run and rob will get a payday if/when that happens.

Just a few things to think about:
Rob has been investing money for years and years, since way before things got big.
He has had a few mtv shows.
He has been involved in a few movies.
He is either a share holder or well paid employee of dc shoes.
He was/is an agent for many professional skaters.
He runs street league.
He rides for monster energy drinks.
There is no shortage of big money in his life. Buying dna in it's entirety from burton is well within his reach. But he is a smart man and will make the deal right.

I love how everyone is quantifying his various incomes, as if the assumption is he paid in cash.

Burtons fiscal year ends at the end of this month, so guessing they are going to be starting February away from burton.
I was told Dyrdek will be buying all of dna, with intentions of reselling a portion of it back to hill/carter at a later date.
They will keep Habitat footwear going.  This was all from a reliable source connected to dna.
