After reading that letters section you posted between you and Gou, did you end up trying the cloth deck tape?  How did it work?

how old ARE you? and when/how did you start skating? is your story the 'grew up skating in the driveway with friends from school' story or did you have a different upbringing?

I loved the tre flips over the cement where you ride and land on dirt. Is that mind-fuckery something you think of way ahead of time like "that wuold be cool" or is that something you just see as soon as you are just passing by?

why did you choose richie jackson as your forum name? lack of creativity?
why didn't you go with something like willy wonka, uncle scrooge, or at least bob, frank or something...?
no offense.

How does a yankee from the states come up on a copy of Killself?  I've been trying to get a copy of that video for ever and still no luck.  If you have a copy laying around, I'd buy it off of you.  First time I saw this, I really dug your part and haven't really recovered since.

I once saw you sitting on a bench at Redfern smiling to yourself with no skateboard in sight.  I was told you like to do acid a lot.  Is this a common result?

Also...what was the deal with that time you got arrested??

Bogans in Australia aren't very accepting of people who are different than themselves, have you had many run-ins with these foul beasts? If so, any funny or particularly interesting ones?

For those who didn't see- Richie and Gou interviewed each other.  He posted this link in the other Richie thread and it answers some of the questions being asked.

I have always enjoyed your skating, its fun to watch something new that breaks out from the cookiecutmold that skateboarding sometimes is.
With that being said, who and what inspires you skatiewise, as an older guy i find it pretty hard to find new things to be inspired by.

(This is gonna be worded terribly.)

At what point in skating did you decide to go at it in such a non-traditional approach? Though it's not as prevalent, it's easy to see that even without the footplants and pole jams that you've got a lot of stock stuff down pretty well. (Fliptricks, switch/nollie, yaddayadda.)

I can answer this because there was definitely one single moment that changed everything for me. I was in a skate store after school and decided to put a VHS of labelkills on.

jason adams - label kills Small | Large

This section from Jason Adams, the first part in the video, was the single biggest moment of "What the fuck am I watching?" awesomeness that I had experienced at that point. The doors of imagination got ripped off the hinges that evening, and I finally had a peek at what was waiting on the other side of convention. The getups and tricks were utterly outlandish, preposterous even, but executed with total refined agility which made it cohere. It was intrepid shit to be exhibiting in the skateboarding climate of 2001, and it was this part that sent me off in my own direction.

I've got two copies, one burnt and a real copy. I don't think you'd be able to find it anywhere.

Was that wallride on the bus first go?

That's not what I want to hear!  The search continues!
