Boil the Ocean did a writeup on it which is a better read than anything in this forum.
I love when Pilot Light puts "..., Dudes" in a post title.

Is the boil the ocean thing tongue in cheek? If not I'd believe what colin says(that klein wanted to sell it to a tv network) over that dude's guesses.

They probably focus on ?mikey? because he is dumb and doesn't question what they have to do, and yea the marketing too. Look at him when it gets announced they have to draw their own boards, he gets excited.
It would be so funny if all the contestants decide to just quit with the bullshit and one guy cluelessly stays on. Then the last 3 episodes would just be him doing all the challenges by himself.
And then he would get eliminated for not being able to guess the right number, 1 through 10.

makes the most sense to me. and if mikey hadn't been in the reject weekend video i would've bet money that he took the whole thing. alex klein is willing to shit all over a respected series to the extent that the first few episodes show, for the purpose of making it entertaining to non skaters and to sell it to a network; i wouldn't put it past him to just rig the whole show. especially when he knows that the eliminations he's making don't take into account one's actual talent in skateboarding. so he never has to worry about his predetermined choice not coming through during the day and getting eliminated for not being the weakest link. maybe the kid with the braces if he wasn't in the video, i think non skaters would be hyped on a random babyfaced kid becoming a pro.

Or maybe it's because it has only been Wednesday for an hour and a half (Chicago time)?

Yeah, it usually drops a little later in the day.
I just re-watched the last episode (don't ask why) and I'm damn sure Lou wanted the corndog to win. Team Corndog.

Still sucks but at least Mikey got called out for his one-up and they highlighted Finucian's Ragdoll ride outs.
I'm surprised the artist dude is still in there.
I wish I was a psychiatrist or something so I could interpret the body language of the guys as they stood in line and listened. My inexperience tells me they were non-plussed by the whole deal.

that one-uping shit was stupid. Just because he did a trick that was probably harder doesn't mean it was a better trick.

At least this time they judged the people from their footage.
Also--why was Cardiel only in (barely) 2 episodes when he's supposed to be the host?

Why did Nate get eliminated over the other dude? He got good tricks and actually landed them. This doesn't even make any sense...

Thank god they eliminated dudes based on footage. This wasn't such a bad episode. THe only thing that made me laugh was the dramatic/epic music they put when they eliminated Nate.

On the NEXT EPISODE:
More INDOOR PARK FOOTAGE! Plus, Steve and Rodney continue to undo years of awesome skating and solid reps by dancing like trained monkeys for the corporate dollar & acting like the biggest douchebags in the world to a bunch of kids who are skating their hearts out.
Stay tuned!
