So, yeah, that was my surprise thing...

OK, so here's the deal: last summer I was curating a few chunks of that huge skateboard art show in Paris called Public Domaine -Thrasher Peabody cover et all. Besides picking the photographers exhibited on the fourth floor, I was in charge of a deck exhibit downstairs under the moniker Agents Provocateurs -an anthology of offensive/controversial/political/message-charged skateboard graphics from then (1990-ish) to now.

So that could have been that. But the venue in question bares a souvenirs-type of shop, and I thought it?d be cool to pick a few of the graphics exhibited and make super high-quality silk-screen prints of them, just a run of 100 prints for each. The two chosen ones ended up being the Sean Cliver "Charles Manson Brown" done for 101 in 1993, and Todd Francis' "Nature's Revenge" deck for Julien Stranger out on Antihero.

To make sure this awesome art was going to be treated right, I really wanted to work with Anagraphis/Les Fr?res Lumineux, whose outstanding portfolio print work for legendary alternative cartoonists (Robert Crumb, Gilbert Shelton etc) is mind-blowing, albeit of course not cheap at all. Prints were made, they looked great, a bunch sold at the show... But the leftover was pretty much promised to rot in the shop's basement (as in: exposed to water leakage! Unbelievable) once it was over. It killed me to see it going to waste. So in broke-ass, yet super-hero-ish fashion, I went and salvaged the about 50 prints of each graphic left. The only thing I forgot is that I might not have at all the money for it but fuck it, I bought them all back -a la American Pickers, minus the profit.

And here they are now, available exclusively on Memory Screened :

www.memoryscreened.wordpress.com

So, if I was you I'd hurry 'cause these will be going fast and there aren't a ton left. Plus, they will never be re-printed, like, ever.

(Oh, and forgot to add that all people involved (artists/pros/comapny owners who put out said graphics) are cool with me selling these now, even though I sorta fucked up at first by only asking the artists if we could go ahead and print these. I wanted to point out that. Thanks, guys!)

If you need money for a road trip with Mikey Taylor, why don't you just say it.

In case proof was needed that these Anagraphis/Freres Lumineux dudes are both pure artisans, and unapologetically French too (check the beret hat!), I just found out a few pics they sent me when they were printing. Seriously rad guys!

In the first image tag add [img width=700] and that will change the size of the pic.

I tried once with these guys, it looks super easy when you see it done, but once you actually gotta do it, it's just madness. They didn't give me a second chance, needlesss to say.

OK, one last pic from the stacks, and then I'll stop bugging everybody with these ha ha. I'm really surprised at how fast they're going, super stoked to see that abunch of peeps get it.

If that goes OK, I think I'll try to do one (official, this time!) project a year, maybe subscription-style cause there's no way I'll have that kind of money up front. I have a few in mind I'd like to see printed, but suggestions are welcome of course...

Which ones would you like to see printed? ('90s-2000s stuff please... sorry, just my generation). Out of curiosity.

Yeah Seb's the fuckin man.  I ordered the Julien print right away.  This isn't quite the right place to ask this, but it kind of is.  I want to see a print of a certain deck but don't know what it is, I just loved the graphic.  It was a girl looking out a window, with snow flakes falling I think.  Maybe dark around the window?  Sorry that's the best I can describe it.  I've been wanting to know what this board was for soooo long.  I saw it maybe around 1999 give or take?  It's weird that that one graphic has stuck with me for so long.  Anyone got any ideas on what it is?  Other than that, I'd love to see some old blind boards, or early workshop.  Or maybe Penny's first cheshire cat board.

Mmhh... Any clue at all of what company might have put it out? Tough call. I'll try to find an image of it though. So far, the graphics that people propopsed, plus suggestions I received through emails are all definite contenders for sure!

it'd be hard to produce the quality of stuff he and mckee did back in the day. there's not too many more envelopes to push but maybe i'm wrong and i'd at least enjoy watching them try. he also said in an interview he's more sensitive to certain things since he's grown up and had a kid.

Sean has been doing some really good one-off boards for Girl lately -killing it, and in a total different style topic-wise than his 90s boards.

By the way, thanks to everybody who's been ordering, from the board or other places. I'm surprised how fast these are going, it's kinda crazy, I've been packaging away in the last few days. There are just a few of each left!

hey there -just a super-small handful left ! Crazy. Just saying that, and also that I did sort of a "commemorative" post about some of the people I got to be in touch with doing this, and that was the really cool part. Some of you might see shit they sent me in there!
www.memoryscreened.wordpress.com

Also: definitely will be trying to do a print a year, that was a good experience. I'll just do the whole licensing less artistic next time.

I'm gonna get another Julien print if they're still left by the time I scrounge the money together.  My last one got stolen out of my house! What the fuck is that shit?  My bike and a Julien Stranger print are the only two things to get stolen out of my house.  At least someones got good taste.
