Yeah, Josh has been ripping for a number of years. He's probably in his late 20's by now but outside of the greater Santa Cruz/SF Bay area a lot of people probably haven't heard much about him aside from a nod in Thrasher here and there.

Seems like he's come a long way from winning battle of the shops and selling dime bags at the skatepark.

He's a loudmouth, or at least was a few years back. He's not a like an "SC local" type dick*, just kind of obnoxious. Not trying to defend or attack. I've skated with him a few times a few years ago, and aside from him being an amazing skateboarder, that was the impression I got.
I liked how he had an old school cruiser that had a mini bowl drilled into a corner to smoke weed from.

*sidenote: not all sc locals are dicks, but there is a specific subtype of local that isn't particularly pleasant if you weren't born and raised there

I know exactly the people you're talking about. Also agree that when he was younger he was obnoxious and could come off as a dick, that was my first impression, but I've seen much worse attitudes and personalities. I had a good amount of killer sessions with him after that and my impression changed, he was pretty fun to skate with most of the time. Don't know about now, haven't talked to him since '09. He's pushing 30, maybe he's grown up matured. Looks like his skating has at least.
