i've been listening to freakonomics, how stuff works, goldmine hip-hop, WTF with marc maron, etc. i'll listen to anything as long as it's interesting or funny

I dont know what your movie interests are but i listen to a lot of stuff here. I like Radiodrome and Lost in Static. Radiodrome is about horror, exploitation films and VHS while lost in the static is about movies and anything nostalgic the hosts want to talk about. movies, porn, magazines lots of stuff. Theres a lot of other shows there so something else may peak your interest.

Mad Decent has a podcast. it's music, but I think it'd still be worth a shot it's all over the place with genres so it's a nice mix

Two comedians, Andy Zaltzman and John Oliver (the daily show).
Current affairs, politics, puns, and a lot of laughs.
previously on the times online and then after a good amount of Rupert Murdoch slaying they were let go, now to be re born!

not necessarily. i'm just sick of what i have on my mp3 player, and i'm very picky with music so it'll take me 3 hours of crate digging to find a decent song. i just don't have the time for that. plus, the guy i work with is a total bore, so i sort of need to listen to stimulating conversations about stuff i like cause i'm sure as hell not having any good ones with this guy (ex: i'm asked "did you see any hunnies?" about 15 times a day. what am i supposed to do? give this dopey ass hockey dad a detailed explanation of the cut of a chicks jeans, and how her ass looked like a pear in them? fuck that)

good call. i listened to two episodes today and they were hilarious. i used to watch the daily show a lot, and i always hoped that john oliver would have a segment. when he didn't, i felt cheated

i listened to the one about Crank a few days ago. so funny. those guys get Crank, and the amount of backstage/fun facts the director was talking about makes Crank that much more funnier

The British newspaper The Guardian has a few decent podcasts.
Try 'Music Weekly' by them - 'Science weekly' too. Both interesting and informative.
Most of the others from them will only really interest you if you're from UK.
Also, if you like hearing film talk - The Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo Film Review is a good mix of pseudy and funny and delivers once a week too. I'm addicted to the latter and have been for about 3 or 4 years now.

If u care about humans and are liberal as fuck(I think?), there's the daily 'democracy now' podcasts. I've never listened but my friend who knows a ton swears by it.I think its serious political/human rights/world news mostly.

Clyde Singleton mentioned some interest in doing a podcast. If you don't know the possibilities of how awesome that is then.... well, you probably just aren't as old as I am and you don't remember the Clyzza emceeing skate comps and basically clowning everyone.

I know what you mean about "sick of music". At my old job, I would work from 6am to 10am with no distractions and no customers, I would just throw my earbuds in and have 4 hours to myself.
Cannot stress enough how good the Ricky Gervais podcast is, they have about 200 hours of content probably more and it really grows on you. I still listen to it everyday.
The "Guide to _____" are all really good, then they did 3 seasons of their original "Podcast" which at the time was the highest rated and downloaded of all time.
Some of their best stuff though is when they were on XFM and Karl Pilkington had just started working with them, towards the end you hear the same old recycled stories with "repeat" reactions too them
You will not be disappointed with them

won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I love these podcasts so much, russell and matt are a great comedy pairing.
the 2007 and 2008 shows are the best, this one is probably my personal all time favourite:

bill burr's podcast is decent. it's good to add a more blue collared comedian into the mix (who's not affiliated with blue collar comedy [as far as I know])
and if anyone still cares about this thread listen to:
the best show on wfmu
uhh yah dude
the bugle
the smartest man alive with greg proops
comedy bang bang (when they have good guests)
the pod f. tompkast (the ice t, werner herzog and gary marshall characters crack me up)
