"At the end of the day, I wasn?t going to let anybody close me out like that, when this thing is more about feeding my family." - respect. Although he can be cocky about how he wants to make a movie about his life story and being the "Obama of skateboarding," I respect the dude 100%.

I'm not sticking up for Darren Harper all I am trying to say is that if your are at a party and one of your crew gets in a fight the rest should be right there helping or at least calming things down! That goes without saying. But claiming your dirty ghetto kids, a bunch of tough guys from shitty areas, and then doing nothing when a
homie
is in trouble is weak. But, like I said, I don't know if the story is true.
As for the fight at Manny Mania, that doesn't mean anything. There were so many people around that it was obviously going to get split up.
I don't know anything about how they feel about each other but.. maybe he wasn't their homie? Wouldn't surprise me.
And how fucked up is it for him to hit Stevie, then run away and have Stevie hit him 3 times and end up being the only one touching the ground. All his talking about guns must be because he can't fight with his fists.

did you watch the fight with your eyes closed? fujimoto clearly snuck up and hit him with a board and then tripped over bleachers while running away.

I'm still confused as to what "Obama of skateboarding" means. A dude with one video part/music video part in an independently made skate flick saying hes going to be the new Tony Hawk? GTFO. I might as well say I'm going to go Michael Jordan all over the NBA. Lots of skaters come from messed up or dysfunctional situations. But if this guy can get that movie made and a check out of it, more power to him.

No, I had my eyes open. And I agree, from this angle it does not look like Stevie hit him more than once, but I saw a couple of other angles back when it had all just happened, and you saw how Stevie clearly hit him more than once. The clip im talking about has been taken down though, so can’t really prove my point, but it’s probably not necessary either. We can both agree that Fujimotos move with the board to the head behind his back is wack, but he ended up on the ground before he took the board to the head. Spencer hit him as he was getting up, but it doesn’t really matter, I just remember seeing the fight from another angle and thinking Stevie clearly came out on top.

Makes me ashamed of being black. Fuck this waste of air. Im ruff too. OD on heroin tons of times, My friend got 6 years a week ago for attempted murder. Burried a homie a year on average. On top of it all, Im an immigrant whom still went to university and today is head of local skateboarding "club" with over 70 members and take care of the economy and legal stuff.
Yes, I dragged throuth filth and garbage but ill never cry all day long about all my missfortunes and how fucking great i am for dealing with it. Hey Darren, tons of people do the very same thing every year! Congratulations, you are average! Obama my ass, you are Tobi at best.

Stevie told him not to get involved in the clown shoes. He's now essentially saying Stevie was right. He's lucky Stevie left the decision up to him, whether he wanted to ride for DGK or ride for Ice Cream 2.0. I wish Darren would stop all the talk and put out some fucking footage.

I will say this, firing shots from a handgun at a car that is fleeing at full speed, and being able to choose whether to pop the windshield or the bumper would take an expert marksman.
So maybe he exaggerates.

Yeah.. Darren got hit over the head with a skateboard, I think twice... hence him running away into the crowd after being hit..

I like DStreets and kids out in DC/MD/VA do like an respect him,but i wish he'd stop playin that hood angle so hard and film a better part, dude can land some crazy shit at pulaski....
not trying to sound like an asshole, but speaking as somebody living in the burbz of DC I can tell you for sure that he's not as well liked/respected now as he was a few years ago. last time i saw "dstreets" he was sitting on a bench and telling kids about how he quit skating at age 14 to sell drugs for a while. i can't hate on the dude though, he's got a pretty crazy life... in a washington post article he said that he had four kids by four different women, so he's probably got a full plate. anyway this is dragging on so i'll say that i respect his ability to nose manual for one helluva long time
