One of my all-time favorites.
So nice to hear someone speak with an actual opinion and not a Bull Durham interview cliche.

What do you think of the internet video boom?
Truthfully, I think the Internet video boom is wack. It just over saturates everything.

Kalis,
DGK needs to film in Philly for at least a month before the video comes out. We need some new Love line with you and Stevie.

everything was super well put especially when addressing the over saturation of things and how people just expect skateboarding to owe them something, awesome read

Kalis is such a rad dude. He just seems like he has 10x as much heart and passion as most skateboarders.
Oh, and congratz on the new daughter, Kalis!

...especially when that site's motto is "for the love of the game."
cuz otherwise I'd say profit motive.

His Bricklayer segments have to be some of the dumbest shit around.
Talk for 60 seconds then rip off others intellectual property and call it "exclusive video."

I'm pretty sure Josh makes no money off that site, if anything he has to pay for the site to be operated.

Josh, I'm in total agreement about the over saturation of internet videos but how can you say that all the while running a website that is a direct cause of said "problem"?

That's a good point and something I thought about when I read the interview but I wouldn't say Hellaclips is THE DIRECT CAUSE.

The site is a fun project.... Thats pretty much it.
I watch the things that interest me... but i don't watch all the videos every day..
Hellaclips is just fun to do. The footage is all there.... can't stop that... so might as well make something cool with it.
And Brick Layers is dope!! Hearing what pro's have inspired other pro's....
And if the web site becomes profitable... that would be dope!! lol.
aint nothing wrong with that. I'd be a damn lie if that wasn't the case.
But foreal... its a lot of fun.

Word, what he says is true.
He doesn't have to like the internet saturation, but that's how the game is played now. It's better to compete and stay relevant than fade into obscurity. Very few pros have come back from the abyss...

i guess, but if you mean competing with hellaclips i dont get it. i understand all the content is out there, but doesnt this streamline the over saturation of footage even further?

definitely. of course the clips are already out there, it's the prepective that makes the rewatch good. either seeing something you missed or finding out what pros feel the same way you do about a pros impact on skating.

Kalis signed my shoe at a demo one time probably 10-15 years ago. I only bought his shoe for at least the next 4 years. He probably made $10-$20 directly off of me buying his shoe. This interview made me happy I bought him lunch indirectly, or his kid a diaper.

For a European who has never been to Walmart...is Walmart really like this? Like place where blacks hang out and act all weird?
Just curious.

Thanks bro!!
But for real...
I just sent the links to my dude who helps me with the site. The link are for tomorrows "Throwback Thursday"... and that is why i love the site.
It so much fun going through that shit and being able to share it to people who may have never seen that shit. Love it.

my friend said the exact same thing when we were talking about how outdated something like 411vm really is due to the state of the itnernet nowadays.
