imma go ahead and say if you haven't been privy to clyde singleton's facebook posts this month, you're blowing it. he's done a straight up black history fact-a-day thing for the whole month and dropped science everyday. most of what he posted, i was already familiar with, but this escaped my vision entirely and has references to a lot of dudes i never heard of. respect.

i wish i'd have found out about this show when it was going on. i wonder why it wasn't all over the skate media? it seems like they'd have jumped at this. oh well.

On a somewhat related and personal note. About a month ago some annoying loud mouth tried to make conversation with my friends and I while we skating in downtown. He told me that it was weird that I skate and that I was the only black skateboarder he had ever seen. I felt like I was transported 30 years into the past.

Funny you should post this. I just read this article http://www.slapmagazine.com/component/option,com_jfusion/Itemid,4/index.php?topic=51094.0

Can you share more for those of us that aren't Facebook friends with Clyde? That event looks interesting. Also surprised I hadn't heard of it.

yo! kindu was in that thread too! where's he at? i miss kindu.

i didn't take any screenshots of his posts, but if anyone else did, please fel free to post them up. imma see if i can maybe copy/paste some of his stuff here. i might get lazy though. we'll see. i remember the "sal barbier is the jordan of skating" post got mad hits. the steve steadham post was visited by steadham himself. the thread where don hillsman came in and told the story about pnut brown getting called a nigger by jason jesse back in the day and getting choked off the back of the ramp was hilarious! there were some other highlights, but i'll need to copy/paste to avoid doing my man an injustice by quoting him wrong. clyde don't play that shit. lemme see what i can do.

history 101:

two points i'd like to make crystal clear.

1] clyde singleton is the man behind these posts and i, in no way, deserve credit for anything other than copying and pasting. that dude deserves way more than people give him already and i won't be another herb getting props for whats not mine. period. gnar me if you want, but clyde's the man and this is his shit. looking fwd to BUYING the book.

2] there were so many other people he shouted out, but they were brought to light in the comments and i can't be bothered to take screenshots. go friend him and do your research if you want to know the stories and shit behind the posts. it'd be worth it for the england post alone. but be warned, clyzza don't play that. if he friends you, you'd better mind yer manners.

that said, here ya go bois!

No love for Ron Allen?

Also, just because you put "23" on the side of your shoe doesn't make you the Michael Jordan of skateboarding.

That is just stupid.

Damn, kamltoe, that was a lot of work because Clyde posts a ton of stuff.  Seriously though, it was a really cool thing that he did and he interacted with pretty much everyone who commented.  But yeah- he doesn't take shit and he'll call people out and let them rile themselves up.

it wasn't that bad. the content he posted was worth it and i really hope that book happens. it could seriously change the game if it's done right.
