Hey dudes.

I'm working on a lil' project for school called Skate Atlas. Check it out here.

It's basically about blanketing the earth with skate footage. I was hoping that I might be able to get some SLAP heads to throw some footage up - clicking the "upload" button leads you through either uploading a video to youtube, or linking your own existing youtube video, and if it has a location tag it'll appear on the map. Currently there's just a few rather bad phone clips of me and a few pals in Atlanta - it'd be rad to get some exotic locales or even some footage of someone who's good at skating.

Your youtube account still gets the views 'n shit, if you're into that sort of thing.

Started this fairly recently, so sorry about the layout and the things that don't work.

TLDR: link me yr youtube footage and I will love you long time

That's a fucking cool little app.

Just a heads up, it looks like you have a video showing up off the west coast of Africa at about 0,0 Lat/Long.  If it matters, you want to make sure to filter out all 0,0 Lat and Long values.  Sometimes things get tagged with 0,0 instead of a null/no location and people love to call bullshit on your positioning when they see stuff showing up in the middle of the ocean.

Ah ha, fixed it.  You are awesome, man.

Seems like a couple of people have tried to submit a video with no location tag ? alls you gotta do is set the map location under the "edit info" part of the vid's youtube page
